I think I Know How To Fix It

Lakeville-20130715-00494

As everyone remembers, I was up in a  tizzy over this quilt top, which is for a very dear friend of mine, and I was just upset it wasn’t amazing. Well, I think I remedied the situation. I decided to use a brown for the border to make the center pop quite a bit more, and I really think it does. Once I finished sewing the top together, I’m going to stitch resist it in place and use bleach discharge and then blue fabric paint to make circles, which I think will really make it just that awesome! I hope this all works out as well as I hope, and I really think it will.

How Should I Quilt This?

Frozen Star 2

Later this week or next week, I’m planning on quilting this. I have no idea what to do. Part of me wants to do a simple design, and do grey thread, but then part of me wants to do something with turquoise thread, and just have some wild and crazy fun! What does everyone think I should do?

I Would Be Lying If I Said I Was Thrilled

Lakeville-20130714-00493

I’m working on this piece, and I’m just not in love with it. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I’m just not enchanted with it. I usually fall in love with a quilt once the piecing is almost done, and as I near completion on this quilt top, I find myself says… Meh. It’s nice and all, it really is, but I’m just not all that thrilled with it. I’m kind of tossing around the idea of what to do with a border, and I’m just not sure what to do about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Stabilizer? Yes or No?

I’ve had a few people ask me about stabilizer for fabric the past few weeks. I decided to dip my toe in the water and ask everyone who reads this!

I’ve never used it, but every now and then, I think to myself, it would be nice for some projects, but I also hear it makes the fabric not as soft and makes it rather rigid and uncomfortable. I know people say to use it for wall hangings because you won’t be touching them, and it helps get you those perfect corners! I just don;t know, so I’m hoping one of the readers will help me out here, and help everyone else out as well by letting me know what they think.
