Making Some Baby Quilts

IMG_20170909_143234105

Lots going on this weekend! I worked this morning, and now I’m working on embroidering 2 baby quilts. I have a queen size Zelda quilt half way quilted in my basement, but I am too tired to go quilt it. At least I can passively embroider these baby quilts while I watch old episodes of Archer. Tomorrow I’ll finish the quilting on all three of the quilts. I don’t know how, but darn it, I’ll get it done! Wish me luck! Continue reading

Here is a message from Richard!!!! I still have so much work to do on mine! I have 3 commissions ahead of it! Hopefully I’ll hurry the hell up and get some sh*t done!

Here’s the direct message from Richard! He is still working on getting me a new artcall link, so when I get it, I’ll update the post!

Greetings all.

I thought I would take a moment to provide an update on the Anthems
project. I’ve seen people posting their work – and I am stunned and
amazed.
First and foremost, I have to give my deepest and sincerest apologies to
everyone for my lack of contact. Life gets busy sometimes, and that’s
the only excuse I can offer.
So that we can move forward with things, I’d like to remind everyone of
the project. With about 6 weeks to go, there’s still time. Continue reading

The Pick Museum: Quilts and Human Rights

11

There it is, my quilt for equality hanging in The Pick Museum of Anthropology at Northern Illinois University. I got see it all trussed up looking fabulous next to some other amazing quilts!

The entire evening was overwhelmingly amazing! I got to meet so many unique individuals, and the show, in general, was amazingly curated. I’m so pleased to have a quilt there among such beautiful art pieces! Later tonight, I’ll write up why Cole Hall at NIU is so significant for the anthropology museum. I’ll also post some of the better images I find from the evening!

For now, I have some pictures from the evening to share. My camera died, so they are all taken with a cell phone, so bear with me. Continue reading

A Lot Going On

quiltshow

I know I’ve been neglecting everyone again, but with good reason. I’ve been swamped! Work is picking up, I have a couple of new button vending machines debuting, and I have to go to NIU for a show tonight!

Tonight, I’ll be the at The Pick Museum of Anthropology at NIU. I’ll get to meet the Reverend Jesse Jackson , and hang out with some amazing people! I’m so excited! They even used my quilt for the promotional material associated with the show! Ahh! I’ll post pictures of the show tomorrow! Wish me luck!
