I was a couple of days behind of my sewing projects, until today that is. Now I’m mostly caught up. I have to put on the border, baste and quilt it. So hopefully I’ll get that done over the next 2 days, and then I can start work on my next quilt. I was feeling a little overwhelmed, but now I’m back on track. I can’t believe I spent all day sewing, and also had time to make homemade meatballs, spaghetti and french onion soup. It was delicious by the way!

Working On Another Legend Of Zelda Triforce Quilt!
You know what they say, no rest for the wicked! So I must be down right dastardly at the rate I’ve been going. I have my serger which I only allow myself to play for 30 minutes a day until I am all caught up on commissions. I have a queen size quilt and a throw quilt to complete, and here is the queen size I am working on today! One of these days I’ll be all caught up, and then I can do something fun and awesome with my serger, like make 100 change purses in a day! Not sure why I would want to, but damn it, I want to say that I did it! Also, I think I’m going to get the gathering foot for my serger! I want to make something gathered on it, not sure what, but darn it, I want to make it! Now wish me luck so I can get back to sewing like a fiend!
I Bought The Piping Foot For My Serger
So the other day I bought the piping foot for my serger. I love using it to put on zippers. It gives it such a nice close finish, so I think I found my new zipper tool. Here’s the tutorial on how to make these cute little bags. I also bought the gathering foot so I’ll play with that later when I make curtains. Maybe I’ll post some pictures of using the gathering foot later tonight. Wish me luck!

Serger Tutorial: Small Makeup Bag
These cute little make up bags are super easy to make when you have a serger! The serger trims, overcasts, and puts on your zipper! Just make sure to use a heavy enough fabric and to use a plastic zipper! To be honest I would not recommend doing this on a very cheap serger, as it will have to sew through the zipper, and some cheaper sergers cannot handle it.
What you’ll need for this project:
1. 8 inch plastic zipper
2. Piece of fabric (I used upholstery fabric) that is 7″ by 14″
3. Pins

Snowflake Table Runner
The world has been obsessed with Frozen and I finally got around to doing something winter themed! I decided I wanted a black table runner and I was going to do some Modern Snowflakes in different shades of light blue, light purple, light yellow, silver, grey, and white! I’ve got about 6 more snowflakes to embroider, but it should be done by next week. One can hope anyways!

Finished The Duvet Cover
It took me a while, but I made this duvet cover for a customer! I wanted to finish it last night, but I had a date to go on, so I was a bit preoccupied! However, I just finished sewing the velcro on to close up the opening, so I’m quite excited to get this in the mail on Monday! I hope he likes it! It was quite an adventure, this being the first project I used my serger on! It was quite the good investment! I feel like I’m going to be using it a lot!
Using My Serger Like A Boss!
I’m so proud of myself! I actually used my serger, and got all the tensions right, and it turned out great! I used it to make the duvet cover I’m working on, and I think it gave it a nice professional seam on the inside, and now I don’t have to worry about it fraying! I’m so happy I have a serger now! I feel like he and I are going to be good friends!
