I Finished (Kind Of) My Denim Embroidery Quilt

So, when I say I kind of finished, I really mean it. I finished the embroidery, and then I even sewed the top, and quilted it. Sounds pretty complete right… Well, I honestly got so excited for it, and I had so many other projects to go, I ran it off on my serger and washed it! So this way the denim appliques would fray and it would look device! I think it came out great. I’ll post full pictures of the quilt when I get around to binding it! Wish me luck!

I Think I Am Addicted To Scarves

Well, my original weekend plans were to make a quilt top, but because of the weather, my fabric shipment got delayed and I couldn’t. So instead I broke out the serger, and got the knits I got on clearance at Joann’s, and I made some scarves. I even made a 14 foot scarf for myself! I’m not going to lie, I just love playing with it! Now that my fabric came today I can get started on cutting the fabric for the quilt. Wish me luck!

I Finished An Infinity Scarf

I took a quick break from sewing a quilt to make an infinity scarf last night. I just got this bug up my ass, and next thing I know I’m pulling out my serger and making a scarf! I think it turned out just marvelous! I used the rolled hem on my serger and some woolly nylon, and made the outside seam twist around it, adding some texture, and making sure it wasn’t flat! I just love it! Now to get back to quilting!

I Finished A Triforce Throw Quilt… 2 More Before Christmas

I know I haven’t posted anything quilt related lately, but I’ve just been so busy. I just finished this the other night and I’m mailing it out today. Now tonight I have to make a Full size quilt top to mail out on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Busy Day! I finished A Quilt, And Started Another One

I finished it! 3 More Quilts to go by Christmas! I started cutting the fabric for a throw size, so hopefully that will be done by Thursday, and then that leaves me 3 days for a quilt top, and a week for another queen size. I’m going to be running on empty and may not even set foot in my sewing room after the holidays for a bit. Wish me luck!

Quilting The Triforce – I Love Variegated Thread

I basted and started quilting the Triforce quilt last night. I was going to do the background first, and then the bird and Triforce afterwards, but I was too tired, so I just did the bird and Triforce. I took about one third the time of doing the background, so I end up getting to bed around 3:30am. I have to work at 9:45, so I might be a little tired today, but it is totally worth it! I’ll finish quilting the background tonight, and if I’m luck I can bind it as well, then wash and mail it out on Friday.

Question for my quliter friends: Do you wash your quilts before you give them away?

Latest Triforce Quilt Is Getting A Border… If I Could Only Pick One

It’s 11:00pm and I’m not sure which fabric to put on as a border. I was leaning towards the one with the fern leaves on the black background, but the grey is really framing it quite well. Any opinions? For those of you that don’t know, Zelda is an amazing video game, and part of it always takes place in the forest, so I’m really leaning towards the fern fabric, but I’m a little worried, because there is a lot of that fabric already in the quilt. What should I do? Or should I go to bed and figure it out tomorrow?

I Pounded Out The Triforce Quilt Top Today… I’m Exhausted

I was a couple of days behind of my sewing projects, until today that is. Now I’m mostly caught up. I have to put on the border, baste and quilt it. So hopefully I’ll get that done over the next 2 days, and then I can start work on my next quilt. I was feeling a little overwhelmed, but now I’m back on track. I can’t believe I spent all day sewing, and also had time to make homemade meatballs, spaghetti and french onion soup.  It was delicious by the way!

Working On Another Legend Of Zelda Triforce Quilt!

You know what they say, no rest for the wicked! So I must be down right dastardly at the rate I’ve been going. I have my serger which I only allow myself to play for 30 minutes a day until I am all caught up on commissions. I have a queen size quilt and a throw quilt to complete, and here is the queen size I am working on today! One of these days I’ll be all caught up, and then I can do something fun and awesome with my serger, like make 100 change purses in a day! Not sure why I would want to, but damn it, I want to say that I did it! Also, I think I’m going to get the gathering foot for my serger! I want to make something gathered on it, not sure what, but darn it, I want to make it! Now wish me luck so I can get back to sewing like a fiend!

I Bought The Piping Foot For My Serger

So the other day I bought the piping foot for my serger. I love using it to put on zippers. It gives it such a nice close finish, so I think I found my new zipper tool. Here’s the tutorial on how to make these cute little bags. I also bought the gathering foot so I’ll play with that later when I make curtains. Maybe I’ll post some pictures of using the gathering foot later tonight. Wish me luck!
