Just wanted to drop some images of a couple of canvases I’ve done over the past year and a half. Trust me, I have more, but they still need to be photographed.

Continue readingThe studio de Eric has been in full swing… Well, trying to be in full swing. I’m still taking time for small existential breakdowns. Trying to keep busy, and focus on making some art! I’ve been digging through all of my half finished projects, and trying to do something with them! I’ve even been quilting! I have a quilt top finished, and hopefully I’ll start quilting it tonight! I’ve decided to give you guys a teaser of some of the projects currently on the slab. Keep in mind, these are not completed pieces, so they will look quite a bit different by the time I finish them!

I’m totally cheating with my embroidery machine! It does the best applique! And for this project, it’s perfect. It’s almost comedic to look in my sewing room right now. It’s covered in ribbon, fabric scraps, thread, and starch based glue. I just buy Elmer’s by the gallon. They sell it at Walmart for like 10 dollars, and goodness knows I’m using it by the gallon. ‘A Prayer For Zachary’ did have to take a back seat this week with the blizzard we had, and I got a throat infection. It’s like this avian flu just won’t leave me alone. Don’t get sick, it’s for the birds… Literally! (More Pictures after the jump.)

It’s taking some time, but it’s getting there. I have about 50 more stars to embroider, and then I can bind it. I miss stippling. So much faster, but this does look way cooler.
The plan is, and I use the term ‘plan’ loosely, to release all of my embroidered quilting motifs online. Fingers crossed I’ll get around to it soon. We’re creeping up on the busy season at work, and I would like to get all of that out before I start working 60 hours a week again. Wish me luck!

I’ve got stars for days! I’ve got about 70 more to put on, so this might be a while, but I can binge netflix while I do it, so I can’t complain too much. I’ve even got a beautiful backing for it! I’ll post another picture on Sunday with the progress. Wish me luck! Continue reading
IT took a while, and there are a few mistakes, but damn it, it looks good! This is the quilt that was quilted with my embroidery machine. There are a few vertical lines quilted into it, because I really wanted to keep the vertical aspects of the buildings evident. I’m just so in love with it, but now I cannot find a binding I like. I might have to go and get some solid black. (Don’t ask why I’m out of it; I have clearly been slacking on my inventory.) Well, now that I get to see it when it is done, I love the way the embroidery motif looks! It took about 20 hours to quilt it, but you know, it was totally worth it! I can’t wait to finish it, so I can take pictures of it to enter in shows.

Just a fun embroidery that was finished a couple nights ago. I just really wanted to play with this 19wt thread I got, and it makes marvelous fire! I’m very excited by it. Now just to pick a frame. It’s for a 5×7 frame, and I know I have a crap ton of those around here somewhere… Just not sure where. Wish me luck!
I just love getting good reviews! These designs look so cute stitched out! Just wanted to share!
People have asked, and I have answered. I just added the 6″ by 6″ Pokemon Go Design set to my Etsy shop! I’ve gotten a few requests for the design set in the sizes I put on bath towels, and I went ahead and made the available for you! And don’t forget to send me pictures of what you are doing with the designs!
