A New Baby Quilt!

As you know, I’m always down to make a baby quilt! I actually made this in one day from start to finish. It was pretty simple with the patterning I chose. two of my close friends are having a baby, and I took the opportunity to make this unique pattern. Yes, I will be publishing the pattern sometime in June in case anyone was wondering! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I mus get back to fabric dyeing in my basement! Wish me luck!

Having A Blast With Fabric Paint

I’ve been having a blast with fabric paint! I recently bought some Jacquard Dyn-Na-Flow and I have been having a blast with it! I’ve been using a salt technique to add texture, and I just adore it! I have two more pieces in my basement curing right now, and I’ll post pictures of them later! Later today I’ll be posting pictures of some of my other recent projects that I didn’t upload here earlier!  Wish me luck!

Solar Flair

It started out as a flower in a dark garden… then, somewhere along the line I started to applique bias strips of fabric down, and now it’s a star! I even named it “Solar Flair”, which, let’s face it, you have to do ‘jazz hands’ while saying it out loud! I have about 200 more strips to put on, but once I do, it’s going to be looking sharp! I’m working on it tonight, so I’ll post the update tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I’ve Been So Busy – Hand Dyed Quilt

There is no rest for the wicked, and there are none more wicked than I! At least when it comes to quilting projects anyways. I’ve been having a blast in my basement! I’ve been having so much fun, I forgot to clue everyone in on the things I’ve been doing. Well, take a seat, and let me fill you in!

Firstly, I started working on this quilt made with black commercial fabric, and then hand dyed fabric from dye plants that my friend grew herself! If that isn’t awesome, I don’t know what is! The quilt is called “Garden Blocks”.

Secondly, I’ve been working on another art quilt. It was going to be a rose, but then somehow it morphed into a dying star… The project is called “Solar Flair”, and I’ll be posting about that later today!

Thirdly, I’ve been having more fun with fabric paint! I’ll post some of that tomorrow.

Lastly, I’ve been looking into using Gel Plates to do some fun fabric printing. I think I might have to make one!

Wish me luck!

I Present “It’s Dangerous To Go Alone”

After about 20 hours of work, it’s finally bound ready to be hung on the wall! It shouldn’t be there for long though, as I’m filling out the application for the Shipshewana Quilt show in Indiana this summer! Then after that, it’s going in the Lake County Fair in Crown Point, In.  I’m not sure after that, but I’m so proud of it, and I love the way it turned out! I was really lucky to not have had trouble with the paint, as it was my first time using it in this application. I just love it! After the shows, I’m putting it up for sale, but to be honest, I kind of want to keep it! Wish me luck!
