Rug Made From Factory Seconds

IMG_20180429_004611472.jpg

For those of you who do not know… I have a day job! I really lucked out though, because I work in knitwear production, which means I have access to knitwear scraps and seconds, and you know I use the hell out of them, from making knit fabric for my quilts, to now using the flawed pieces for weaving.

I started work on this rug, and within about 6 hours, I had a nice 22 inch by 36 inch rag rug. I used polyester upholstery thread for the warp, and nothing but acrylic scraps for the weft. I think it turned out quite nicely, and I’m working on developing it into a class! Wish me luck!!!

Fabric Scraps Into Yarn!

You know me, always looking for something to do. Over the weekend I took some fabric I really didn’t feel like sewing, and made it into bias strips. Sorry for the crappy picture, but once it dries, I’ll get some better ones; hopefully I’ll actually use it soon.

It’s going to go into my loom for my next scarf project. Wish me luck!!!

Finally Finished The Quilting!

I’m not even going to lie; this quilt has been sitting around for over a year, maybe two. It was one of the first pieces I did with my painted fabric. I finally took it off the shelf, and started quilting it. Now to bind it! I made this quilt for a friend, so hopefully I’ll be able to give it to her soon! Wish me luck!
