Rug Made From Factory Seconds

For those of you who do not know… I have a day job! I really lucked out though, because I work in knitwear production, which means I have access to knitwear scraps and seconds, and you know I use the hell out of them, from making knit fabric for my quilts, to now using the flawed pieces for weaving.

I started work on this rug, and within about 6 hours, I had a nice 22 inch by 36 inch rag rug. I used polyester upholstery thread for the warp, and nothing but acrylic scraps for the weft. I think it turned out quite nicely, and I’m working on developing it into a class! Wish me luck!!!

Very pretty and creative rug. You did a great job on that.

Thank you so much! I’m really digging it, but I’m really excited for the possibilities that working with the factory seconds will bring.
