The Last Zelda Commission

img_20171002_161045781.jpg

As you know, I had to give up commissions with my super busy schedule, however this last one slipped in before I stopped. I’m so happy the guy was such a good sport with it taking several months to complete. I’m very happy with how it turned out, and maybe someday in the near future, I’ll commit myself to doing a couple of these a year. I truly do love making them, but it’s the time. Time is an all-to-precious commodity for me these days.

Next on the docket, is binding a couple of baby quilts. Then I will be all caught up, and I can focus on my Anthems quilt! Wish me luck!

A Zelda Quilt… Jsut To Prove I’m Doing Something…

In case anyone thought I was slipping on my commissions… I’ve just been a sewing fool this weekend. Between my Alice in The Garden of Eden quilt, and binding a Zelda throw quilt, I have been quite the busy little sewer. I do have a little surprise for everyone later, so stay tuned!

Spending The Day Quilting

As the snow drifts by my sewing room window, and as I re-watch American Horror Story: Coven on Netflix, I’m wondering why I don’t spend all my spare time sewing. I’m also wondering why Anna Paquin is not on American Horror Story… One can hope for season 5! I get such a rush from watching something come together! I mean, now grant it, this quilt already had the fabric ironed and cut, so I guess that might have something to do with it. Hmmm. Oh well, I’ll just keep on sewing this together, and hopefully I’ll start the quilting on it tonight! Wish me luck!

I’ve Been Working Like A Dog..

I’m sorry I haven’t posted much lately. I’ve been sewing like I’m getting paid for it or something… Oh wait, I am… I’ve been sloshed with commissions and I’m down to my final two before Christmas! I actually sewed quite a bit more than what these pictures show, but it is totally amazing and I’ll post those pictures later! Wish me luck!

I Finished A Triforce Throw Quilt… 2 More Before Christmas

I know I haven’t posted anything quilt related lately, but I’ve just been so busy. I just finished this the other night and I’m mailing it out today. Now tonight I have to make a Full size quilt top to mail out on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Busy Day! I finished A Quilt, And Started Another One

I finished it! 3 More Quilts to go by Christmas! I started cutting the fabric for a throw size, so hopefully that will be done by Thursday, and then that leaves me 3 days for a quilt top, and a week for another queen size. I’m going to be running on empty and may not even set foot in my sewing room after the holidays for a bit. Wish me luck!

Quilting The Triforce – I Love Variegated Thread

I basted and started quilting the Triforce quilt last night. I was going to do the background first, and then the bird and Triforce afterwards, but I was too tired, so I just did the bird and Triforce. I took about one third the time of doing the background, so I end up getting to bed around 3:30am. I have to work at 9:45, so I might be a little tired today, but it is totally worth it! I’ll finish quilting the background tonight, and if I’m luck I can bind it as well, then wash and mail it out on Friday.

Question for my quliter friends: Do you wash your quilts before you give them away?

Latest Triforce Quilt Is Getting A Border… If I Could Only Pick One

It’s 11:00pm and I’m not sure which fabric to put on as a border. I was leaning towards the one with the fern leaves on the black background, but the grey is really framing it quite well. Any opinions? For those of you that don’t know, Zelda is an amazing video game, and part of it always takes place in the forest, so I’m really leaning towards the fern fabric, but I’m a little worried, because there is a lot of that fabric already in the quilt. What should I do? Or should I go to bed and figure it out tomorrow?

I Pounded Out The Triforce Quilt Top Today… I’m Exhausted

I was a couple of days behind of my sewing projects, until today that is. Now I’m mostly caught up. I have to put on the border, baste and quilt it. So hopefully I’ll get that done over the next 2 days, and then I can start work on my next quilt. I was feeling a little overwhelmed, but now I’m back on track. I can’t believe I spent all day sewing, and also had time to make homemade meatballs, spaghetti and french onion soup.  It was delicious by the way!

Working On Another Legend Of Zelda Triforce Quilt!

You know what they say, no rest for the wicked! So I must be down right dastardly at the rate I’ve been going. I have my serger which I only allow myself to play for 30 minutes a day until I am all caught up on commissions. I have a queen size quilt and a throw quilt to complete, and here is the queen size I am working on today! One of these days I’ll be all caught up, and then I can do something fun and awesome with my serger, like make 100 change purses in a day! Not sure why I would want to, but damn it, I want to say that I did it! Also, I think I’m going to get the gathering foot for my serger! I want to make something gathered on it, not sure what, but darn it, I want to make it! Now wish me luck so I can get back to sewing like a fiend!
