Equality Quilt: 20 More Blocks Finished!

Over two thirds of the way done on this quilt top, and I hope to start piecing it together tonight.  I’ve got 16 more blocks to go and I cannot wait to get it pieced so I can admire another work of art. Haha. Soon and very soon it will be done! I hope anyways!

My Latest Sewing Machine!

So, as we all know, I am a huge fan of sewing machines. I’ve got 5 piled up in my sewing room, and I try to use them all, even though I only use my Brother for winding bobbins since I melted some of the gears. However, I have a new addition to the family! I now have my Mother’s Singer sewing machine! I got it from my Aunt today whom my Mother gave it to when she passed away in 1993. Now I have it, and I’m going to love and cherish it! and it looks like a pretty decent machine too, so that’s always a plus! I cannot wait to clean it up and take it for a whirl!

Equality Quilt: 20 More Block Made

I did it! I’m over half way done with blocks. I made 14 yesterday, and then I finished another 20 of them this morning. Unfortunately I have to run to work, so I won;t be able to make more until later today! I think when I get home if it isn’t a terribly long day, I should be able to finish all of the blocks and start piecing them together Sunday and quilt it on Monday. We’ll see!

Equality Quilt: First 14 Blocks Made!

I did it! I started sewing the project together and I’m in love with this quilt just like the first time I made it! I cannot wait until I piece the entire quilt together. Hopefully I’ll have it in the mail by Monday! I’m still a little sick, and I do go to work tomorrow, but hopefully I can power through and in the words of Tim Gunn: “Make it work!” You know I will!

Equality Quilt: The Fabric Is Getting Cut

So last night all I ended up doing was ironing the fabric pieces. I didn’t end up cutting them because y eyes were too tired, and I didn’t want to have any mistakes. So today, I started to cut the fabric for the Equality Quilt I sold. I cannot wait to have a few blocks done so I can post them! Wish me luck and expedience!

I’m Making One Of My Favorite Scrap Quilts!

I was suppose to start work on a Minnesota Vikings’ themed quilt today, but unfortunately all Joann’s in the Chicagoland area are out of Minnesota Vikings fabric! Ugh! However, as there is no rest for the wicked, I have to move on to my next commission quilt which is one of my favorite scrap quilts! It’s the Marriage Equality Quilt! I love making these because it is a chance to clear out my scrap bin! All of my half used fat quarters have found their purpose! I picked out the fabric, and I’m going to start cutting it tonight! Wish me luck!

I’ve Gotten Some New Fabric!

Sorry I didn’t post anything last night. I was so tired when I got home from work, I at and then went straight to bed. I had some really good, homemade fried chicken! It was awesome!

Anyhow! I received this package yesterday from someone I quilted for. She sent me her quilt top made of hand dyed fabrics, and I did the quilting on it. (Here it is) Well, she just sent me some fabrics to say thank you! They are a bunch of fat eights, fat quarters, and even a few half yard pieces. They are fabulous and she is amazingly talented! Here is her Facebook Page, and her Flickr. Her page is called Indy Dye by Rebecca Jones. Everyone should be checking this out!

Quilts Of Nerd-dom

So, as some of my readers have noticed, I’ve been doing a lot of video game themed items this past week. Well, the truth is…. I’m working on a line of quilts and quilt designs called “Quilts of Nerd-dom”. So far… I have done a few Zelda Quilts, a Mario Themed Quilt, and a I’m working currently on a Final Fantasy Art Pop themed Quilt. My goal is that at the end of February to have at least 6 of these Nerd-dom themed quilt tops made, and the patterns available. That is the goal anyways. The thing that I need from my readers is… What should I do next? You tell me what you want!
