I feel so lost without a machine. Why do I have to wait until Friday? Maybe I’ll start working on more patterns to sell on Etsy. Yes, that sounds right. Let me get to work!
Anyone want to see any particular patterns?

Question of the day, or as the Spaniards say ‘pregunta del día’ (can you tell I’ve been looking to Dali and Picasso for quilting inspiration): as far as project size goes, is bigger better?
Personally I prefer doing larger, big ticket items, like quilts ranging from throw size to king size. I do alright with smaller projects like coasters and mug rugs, but I always want to do loads of them. For example, I recently did coasters and pot holders for a few craft shows, and instead of only doing 2 or 4, I did about 20 coasters at a time. I guess I’m just not one of these people that fall prey to the beast known as ‘moderation’. (I think I might be the only person who refers to moderation as a bad thing.) Continue reading
So, last night I was able to get the binding on, and all I can think about is how I desperately need a new machine. I love my Free Westinghouse, but it is so slow compared to my Brother. Something that would typically take me only about 30 minutes took almost an hour! Although I did order my new Janome, and it will be in my clutches by Friday! Too bad I have craft shows Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so Monday I will break it in! I’m thinking maybe I’ll quilt my King Size quilt that I made for myself. It was the first quilt I ever made, and I kind of want it now that the weather is getting colder. Although, it was in the 40’s today. Not bad for December! Anyways, back to the Pond. I washed it and then threw it in the dryer, but then had a doctor’s appointment, so I had to leave before it was done. All I could think about when I talked to my Psychiatrist was, ‘I hope the stitches look nice and the fabric poofs a little!’ Needless to say, it did! It looks fabulous, and I plan on giving it to her later this week!

I ended up ordering the Janome 2212. It was a lot of machine for the money, and I cannot wait for it to get here on Friday! I’m also still getting my Mom’s Singer so I’m also excited about that! My Free-Westinghouse is out of needles, so I’m bummed about that, and I need to order more. My Singer 66 is still at my friend’s house, so I’ll have to go grab that later this week, because without a machine I will go crazy! Here’s to a new machine, and an old one! I’m excited!
That means I get a new one. I was thinking about a Janome, because there is an inexpensive one that I want, and I think it would suit my needs rather well. It’s called a Janome 2212. I’m still getting my Mother’s machine, but I kind of want a cheap workhorse to use for quilting. I think it will be a nice machine, and I know Janome makes good quality machines, and I just can’t wait to get one, I’m going to still be looking to see if I can get anything good on CyberMonday, but if I cannot find anything that tickles my fancy tomorrow, I’m going to buy it! I can’t wait!
My Aunt just emailed me and asked if I would like my Mother’s sewing machine. I instantly replied that I would call her after dinner! I am so happy! To be honest, I forgot what kind of machine it was, but I’m just so happy to have it! I’ve been plugging away all day on my Free-Westinghouse. In fact I just finished the quilting on this! This is actually for a friend of my Mother, who lived 3 doors down from me when I was young. She was the woman who did the hem on my communion pants. I’m so excited to give this to her!
