I finally finished the quilt top! I’m also mildly in love with it. I think it is typically something I would find too cheery, but I know my Dad will love it, so I’m happy! I think I’ll quilt it this weekend and give it to him as an early birthday present. I hope he likes it!

Decided it was a bit too dark, so I’m going to throw in a few brighter pieces. I found a lovely candy cane stripe print, and some red and gold fabric. I’m working on making the block with the stripe a bit more exciting. I have an idea, but I’m still brain storming it.
Since I had to go to work today, which at least was nice exercise, I didn’t get to sew yet today. I think a craft a day keeps the doctor away, so I should be set for a while anyways. I did get quite a bit of work done last night, and I am quite pleased with it so far. I hope to finish the top either today or tomorrow, so we’ll see. I would really like to get this done soon, so I can use up all of those scraps from my other projects and move onto something else, and I want to give to my Dad as soon as possible!

Well, I took to my scraps and started to sew up a storm. I’m almost done with 7 of the 9 blocks. At least, I think I’ll stick with 9 blocks and a large border, or maybe do 12 blocks and a thinner border. Not sure on that detail yet, but I will make sure to keep everyone posted!
I decided that for my Dad’s birthday / Christmas present I’m going to make him a Christmas throw size quilt. I have all of these scraps from making coasters, pot holders, and the like, so I will whip together a quilt! Wish me luck everyone! I have a lot of scraps, so I’m going to try to keep it simple, but you never know!!!

Just finished the quilt top late last night, and today I am quilting it and putting on the binding! I’m quite excited for it to be done! Now that the top is all pieced, I’m so excited to start quilting it. All I need to do is find a backing and start pinning!

Finally made some progress on this quilt! After a week of mild setbacks, I made quite a bit of headway this week. After a broken AC which made ironing quite annoying, and the treads on my machine not working properly. There was a hunk of thread stuck in the back of the treads under the plate, so I had to do quite a bit of digging to find it, and vacuumed it out! I love my shop vac, it is the only thing powerful enough to get everything out. I really should clean my machine more often! Haha! One of these days, right?
Anyhow, this quilt is my first Etsy sale, and I want it to be perfect, and I didn’t want to half-ass any part of it. So I waited until my conditions improved and now I rocked it amazingly! I love the way they greys come together and make a weathered stone feel. The last one I did was supposed to be a weathered landscape look, so I used greens, browns, and greys. That gave the illusion of mossy rocks and dirt, but this grey stone one is equally as beautiful! I’m really proud of it, and I cannot wait to finish it and get it in the mail for my first customer! I hope she’ll love it!!!

I feel so far behind were I would like to be on this quilt. The air conditioning broke at my townhouse, and it is just too hot and humid to sit here and iron fabric all day. Gross! Today is much better though and I started doing the background for this quilt. I’ve decided to go and find a slate grey that will help those light grey pieces blend better, so when I leave the house later, I will go on and find some! I’m really excited!

I sold a quilt on Etsy! It is the first one I sold through Etsy and I am just shaking with intensity! I’ve been rifling through boxes of fabric looking for the right stuff, and sure enough, I got it together! I’m excited to make this one! That, and I’m excited for the colors the person picked out! Greys and Golds, so here we go!
