Here Is The Embroidered Throw Pillow I Promised

I meant to post this in the morning, but I just never got around to it. I’m also glad I got time to finish the quilting on it this morning. I just love the way it turned out! I’m super happy with my fabric choices. I was kind of worried about the green applique flowers, but in the end I love them! Now I just have to grab a 16 by 16 pillow and I’ll be happy!

Crazy Quilt 1: Quilting It

I started to quilt it! I also managed to shred hundreds of documents today as well. (Not that the two are related.) So, I just settled down at my sewing machine. I’m going to hop back on the Colts quilt now, but I just really wanted to start this. It was just nagging at me to throw some shiny thread on it!

Crazy Quilt: Almost There

I finished putting on the border last night. I had done the embroidery at work, but I didn’t get a chance to post those pictures last night. I’ve got two or three more things to put on to jazz it up, and then the buttons! Should I put the buttons on before I quilt it, or after? I’m not really sure. This is my first crazy quilt.

Zelda Commission 5: It’s Finished!

I did it! It is done, and I’m so happy I can call it a day! I’ll mail it out later today, and then tomorrow, I will start my next commission. For the finishing on this one, I did shiny blue thread for the background and then gold for the bird and triforce. I also did a gold rim of stippling around the edge of the quilt. I think it really makes it pop! I’m so in love with it, I’m kind of sad I have to mail it out!

Zelda Commission 5: Almost Done

I’m almost done! I did the blue background stippling and I put on the binding. I used a nice medium mottled blue for the binding. I think it ties the fabric blocks together quite nicely with the medium blue thread I used. The only thing left to do is the stippling on the bird. I already have the gold thread picked out, and it’s by my sewing machine waiting for me! I even got a new quilting foot. I’ll post about that later though. Wish me luck!

Zelda Commission 5: About A Third Of The Way Done

I did it! I hit my goal for the night. I was up late doing this, but it was so worth it. Now that it is out of the way I won’t be thinking about it at work. Now that it is bright and early I’m going to go and get ready for work. I love the way the blues blend in the background. At first I thought my blues all had a little too much contrast, but they all blended quite nicely. The golds blended was too. Tonight after work I should be able to get the next third pieced, but we’ll see how tired I am.

Frozen Star Quilt: Finished!

I did it! I finished the quilt! I’m just in love with it! Too bad I’m not going to keep it, otherwise I would already be snuggling up to it. I decided to give it to someone who sort of got me into arts and crafts as a kid. I really hope she likes it! I’m so glad I went with the blue thread. It looks like tiny ice crystals all over the quilt. I didn’t do a very tight stipple because I didn’t want the blue to override the black fabric and make the red look purple. I’m happy with he way it turned out! I just hope she likes it! And don;t forget! You can make this quilt too! The pattern for both the Throw Size and the Queen Size are in my Etsy Shop!

Frozen Star Quilt: Getting Quilted

Okay, so I chose blue thread. People kept telling me to go with grey, but I really wanted some blue! I’m so glad I chose blue! It looks like little bits of ice are scatted through the quilt with the stitching! I just adore it! Cannot wait to finish and put on the binding! This top was made about 6 months ago and just now being quilted. I feel so far behind! Haha! One of these days I’ll catch up to myself!

Pinning Frozen Star

Since the weather has delayed my fabric shipment, I think I’ll quilt this later tonight. I was just going to stipple it, but I’m not completely set on a color of thread yet. Should I do Grey, Red, or Blue? I’m leaning towards blue, but we’ll see once I start! Wish me luck!

Final Fantasy Quilt: All Done

I did it! I quilted and bound it! I ended up using a stipple, and before nerds attack me for it, let me explain why. A lot of people told me to stitch in the ditch to keep the blockiness of it, but I did the stipple because I think when they first made the character for the video game, they didn’t intend for him to look pixelated. They wanted him to look like something that was curved and didn’t have corners, so love it or hate it, that was my logic. I love the way it turned out. I ended up using a bright blue tonal binding because I thought it really framed it and brought out the colors from the inside. Anyone have any constructive criticism? I also just uploaded it to my Etsy Shop! (Click Here)
