Quilted Throw Pillows!

As we all know, I’m just madly in love with throw pillows. I can pump out two of them in an evening. I made this one at work for a class I am teaching. It will be on Wednesday April 16th at the Merrillville Sewing Center. So, if you are in the area, you should definitely come and check it out! Anyways, here is the pillow. Originally I wanted to do a bargello pillow, but it was just not enough working space. I think I’m going to do a bargello table runner next though! Until then, I’m making one more throw pillow, and I’ll post that later! Wish me luck!

Finished My Americana Clutch

I finished the second clutch I had to make for a class. I’m super excited to teach it! Here is the first one I made. I must say, I’ve gotten pretty good at following a pattern. The first clutch was my first attempt at using a pattern, and I must say, it wasn’t half bad. What do you guys think? I still think I might end up adding some decorative buttons!

Stitcher’s Garden: Finished The Second Block

I’m not going to lie: I did not finish the first block. It is still on one of my sewing tables, and I’ve still got to make the border for it, however, I did manage to pound out the second block for everyone to see! Hopefully I’ll finish the first 3 block by next weekend, but no promises. I have a commission quilt that is in the queue, and that gets started this weekend. It is a super cute Mario Twin bed set! However, it’s time for me to start getting ready for work! Hopefully the day flies by so I can get back to sewing! Wish me luck!

Stitcher’s Garden: First Block Almost Done

I didn’t end up doing much sewing last night, but I did manage to get some of the applique done on this. I just love using my 9960 to do applique, there are quite a lot of stitches. I’m still getting used to doing applique, and it will take some work, but I will do it! Again, if you want to take the class on it, you are more than welcome to at the Indiana Sewing Center! It will teach you about all sorts of fun feet for your sewing machine!

Making Of: Stitcher’s Garden

Thornton-20140402-01916

I started work on Stitcher ‘s Garden! It is a gorgeous quilt that I am working on at the Highland Sewing Center, and it is one of the classes we offer, and last night I started work on this. I was too tired to finish it, and today we were too busy for me to do more on it, but I’m really excited to get more work done on it tonight! Wish me luck! Check out the class list for the shop I work at Here! You can do the blocks one month at a time, or faster or slower if you like. You should stop in because I’ll be teaching a few of them!

Now That My Machine Is Home…

I can finally start to quilt again! My piecing machine is back home, and the tension unit is all better! I have the best sewing machine repair guy in the whole world! He took such great care of it! He told I can lay off using all of the oil I put on it, but I prefer to be safe rather than sorry, but I shouldn’t be over oiling my machine anyways! Welcome Home Old Friend!

Finsihed The Purple Clutch

I did it! My first major non-quilting item! There are a few places that need improvement, but over all I am quite happy with it! I’, also doing one with some Americana fabric. I think it will turn out equally as cute! On that one, I will be doing velcro instead of buttons, but I’ll probably throw one on for decoration anyways! I’m so excited to teach a class on this at work!

Working On My Next Crazy Quilt

Since I liked the last Crazy Quilt so much, I decided to do another one. This one will be shades of grey and black, and then all of the thread is going to be shades of red. I’ll also be teaching a class on this at the shop soon, so I better hurry up and make it! Now that I bought a new machine, I can do the decorative stitches at home, so I should be pretty far along by Monday morning. We shall see! Wish me luck!

Working On A Clutch

Since I’ll be teaching a class on this at the store, I figured I would make a couple of them at home first. I still have to make the bag this wallet goes in, and then make at least one more. I’ll be doing the class the 4th Wednesday in April, so I have some time to perfect it, but I need samples for both the stores by Monday, so wish me luck this weekend! I have quite a bit to do!

Spring Table Runner Finished

I’m just in love with this quilted table runner! I did all of the embroidery and applique on the Designer Diamond Royale. The applique tool is one of the new features, and I am in love with it. Next I am going to do a star themed one for 4th of July and Memorial day. I’m just so excited! Also, I’m going to be teaching a crazy quilt class soon! I’m just so excited for all of the things to come!
