Binding is On Miss A’s Quilt
As I type this, the quilt of which we speak is in the dryer! I’m really excited to see it once all of the fabric once all of the sizing is washed out! I love a quilt out of the wash after I quilt it. The way it gets all crumpled and looks like something you want to cuddle up with on a stormy night while watching your favorite movie. In my case, Malice In Wonderland. However this quilt is not for me, so I digress.
For this quilt I chose to do a bright green binding just to make it more fun, and a little brighter. I was going to do a pink binding, but I think the green made it pop out more and just adds a sense of levity to the quilt. After all, it is for a toddler!

Quilting Is Done On Miss A’s Quilt
It is official! The quilting is done on Miss A’s Quilt! I’m not sure about everyone else, but I feel rather accomplished. I decided to go with the zig-zag theme of the bargello pattern I did, and then in the border I just wanted some fun asymmetrical lines and angles. I wanted the border to contract the symmetry on the body of the quilt. All in all, I think I did a good job! I’m really happy I chose the blue thread, and I really enjoyed the way it came out. However, on a more comedic note, When Miss A’s mom saw me pinning the quilt, she asked about the backing. I chose a hideous flannel that has a plaid print on it. She asked if I ran out of matching fabric. I told her I chose this fabric for 3 reason. 1) I had it… 2) It’s super soft… 3) It’s going to be so ironic! Miss A is a super sassy toddler, so I feel like when she gets older she will appreciate the irony of it all! I hope so anyways!

Miss A’s Quilt Is Pinned
I finally got around to pinning Miss A’s Quilt. I know! It took me all day. I lost all of my pins! It took me 2 hours to find them! What had happened was, I had hidden them at one point when Miss A herself had come downstairs to come and say hi to me. She wandered down into my room and I had the container they were in on the floor because I had just unpinned a quilt. When she picked up the container I through it in a drawer and forgot about it. It took me a while to find it. So, I wasted most of the day trying to find the pins, and now that I finished pinning it, I think I will quilt it later tonight.

Quilt As You Go? Yes or No?
I already started pinning my Quilt For Miss A, and Now I’m thinking about my next project. I was thinking about possibly using the Quilt As You Go method, to just make it more fun for me, and more fun to look at. I’ve heard pretty diverse things about it. Someone once told me it was a bad idea, but then they right away tried to sell me on paying them to long arm, so I’m not sure how legit his view on Quilting As You Go was. So I’m just curious what everyone else thinks about it.
If anyone has any experiences to share, that would be very much appreciated!

Quilting Design For Miss A’s Quilt
I think after a whole day of deliberation, and besides, it was too hot to do anything productive today. Between the stagnant air, and my lackadaisical attitude today, nothing really got done except some online work I had to do. But, between the periods of laziness, I did manage to draw out a design for the quilting on Miss A’s quilt. I really wanted to add to the bargello design, so I decided to do diagonals and then I’ll do something fun on the border. Not sure what that is yet, but we’ll see.
On to my next project!
Now that I finished sewing the Quilt Top for Vicki, and I’m not sure how to dye it yet, so I think I will move on to my next project. That is the quilting work for the Quilt for Miss A! I think I’m just going to stitch in the ditch for the body and then do something with a little more fun for the border. Not sure yet, but I’ll sleep on it and come up with something supper!

Not Terribly Sewing Related… But…
As I sit here watching a dark independent British drama, all I can think about is how much I want to dye that quilt top, but I don’t quite know how yet, and I don’t want to rush it. So, instead I’m sitting here watching ‘Rory O’Shea Was Here’, and it is actually pretty amazing, but my mind is elsewhere thinking of fabrics and dyes and everything that makes me feel motivated to create a beautiful quilt! So, I’ll share some fun inspiration with everyone!
