I finished this throw pillow late mast night, well I guess it was technically early this morning, but whatever! I just did stitching in the ditch to make the geometry of the pillow pop! I still have to quilt the baby quilt I made for my friend’s new son! Not sure if I’ll quilt in the ditch for that, or do a stipple. I can’t wait to put a pillow form in it and throw it on my bed. First I’ve got to wash it. I feel like this is going to be my great pillow weekend. I’m going to do so many things with my weekend! I don;t go back to work until Tuesday, so I’ve got some time to complete a few UFO in my stash! Wish me luck!

Throw Pillow: Once More With Feeling!
You all know I love them, and here is one I just finished! It is just a simple rail fence block, but I used some fun fabrics! I love how loud and obnoxious it is! I did some stippling in light purple thread, just to tie in some of the purple tones in the fabric. I think the colors might blend a tad bit too well, and some of the definition is lost, but I’ll get over it! It will be on my bed soon enough anyways!
Quilted Throw Pillows!
As we all know, I’m just madly in love with throw pillows. I can pump out two of them in an evening. I made this one at work for a class I am teaching. It will be on Wednesday April 16th at the Merrillville Sewing Center. So, if you are in the area, you should definitely come and check it out! Anyways, here is the pillow. Originally I wanted to do a bargello pillow, but it was just not enough working space. I think I’m going to do a bargello table runner next though! Until then, I’m making one more throw pillow, and I’ll post that later! Wish me luck!
Yet Another Quilted Pillow
I just love using variegated thread! It makes my world go round! I also am now in desperate need of an embroidery machine! I’m still experimenting with the embroidery machines, I’m sure once I get all of the features down pat, I will definitely be buying one! All I need is $6,500! Better get saving!
Sneak Peek: My Return To Quilting
As a lot of people know, my Father was hospitalized last week, and I have just been running around doing everything I have to do around the house, and at work, so I haven’t had much time to sew, but I finally started up again, and it’s getting pretty intense! I’ve made 4 different quilted pillows, and I’m going to be showing one off each day for the rest of the week. I hope everyone likes them! The one above has appliqued circles, and then embroidery designs inside of them. I went with monochromatic embroidery, as I didn’t want to take away from the circles. I’m thinkiing about doing a table runner like this! What does everyone else think?
Crazy Quilted Pillow
I was working at the Indiana Sewing Center today and I was going to start work on the next crazy quilt, but then I thought about how cute it would be if I did a crazy quilted throw pillow. I am so in love! It was really easy to piece, and it was really fun to embroider, and it is a great way to use up all of my scraps! I still have to do the quilting on it, and then make it into a pillow, but I did all of the piecing and decorative stitches down the seams today. I think I did alright. For the next three months it will be hanging at the Kalamazoo Store, and then after that it is going home with the person I made it for. It’s her birthday present, and I know she is going to love it.
I’m Just An Embroidering Fool
I swear, I’ve just gone head over heals for embroidery machines! I want one so bad! I did all of this on the Viking Ruby. I just love it! Think I might even buy one… So today, I was working on this at the Highland Indiana Sewing Center, and I’m just so in love with it! I’m not sure if I’m going to put it at the Highland or the Merrillville store on display, but either way I’m excited to have just finished it! I love this kanji fabric, but I can’t remember where I got it from. I would love to buy more, alas, I cannot. I’m sure I’ll stumble across something else gorgeous in the meantime. I need to go fabric shopping!
Candlewicking Throw Pillow
I just love batiks! I just love them to death! I would just eat them if I could! I love putting them in quilt, and now that I’ve discovered the joy of making throw pillows, I’m just going to use up all the batiks in the world. First, I think I’ll try to tackle the ones in my stash before I get too excited! Haha!
I had never really knew what candlewicking was before I saw it on one of the embroidery machines at work. I really love it! I love this design. It just looks so, sexy… classy! I can’t wait to mess around with it quite a bit more! Maybe I’ll do some kind of swirly candlewicking designs that have a leafy accent. Who knows…
Sneak Peak Of Another Pillow
I love the candlewicking designs on the embroidery machines! It is the same fabric I used in the Last Pillowcase. I used a candlewicking repeat design centered around a cute satin stitch Then I quilted it down. I’ll post more about it tonight!
Here Is The Embroidered Throw Pillow I Promised
I meant to post this in the morning, but I just never got around to it. I’m also glad I got time to finish the quilting on it this morning. I just love the way it turned out! I’m super happy with my fabric choices. I was kind of worried about the green applique flowers, but in the end I love them! Now I just have to grab a 16 by 16 pillow and I’ll be happy!
