I did it! I finished the Wonky Quilt from Quilt In A Day! I’m so excited. I’m going to hang it up in the shop I work at for a few weeks, and then it is being sent to my friend for her new born son! I went with purple stippling, and then some yellow stippling overlap in the border. I also picked a very folky / country backing for the quilt since they live on a farm! Everything about this is very excited! I just love the way it turned out! I can’t wait to mail it!
I finished this throw pillow late mast night, well I guess it was technically early this morning, but whatever! I just did stitching in the ditch to make the geometry of the pillow pop! I still have to quilt the baby quilt I made for my friend’s new son! Not sure if I’ll quilt in the ditch for that, or do a stipple. I can’t wait to put a pillow form in it and throw it on my bed. First I’ve got to wash it. I feel like this is going to be my great pillow weekend. I’m going to do so many things with my weekend! I don;t go back to work until Tuesday, so I’ve got some time to complete a few UFO in my stash! Wish me luck!
I’m just so in love with this ruler; I can’t get enough of it! I literally want to do an entire queen size quilt in it for my bed, but alas, I do not have the fabric I want in the quantities I need, and there are about 10 other projects higher up on the list! Sad Day! No, scratch that! There is never a sad day when it comes to sewing! I made myself a throw pillow since I did have some fabric left over from Ivan’s Baby Quilt. Hopefully when I get off work today I can quilt it and have it on my bed by tonight! Fingers crossed!
I have to thank everyone over at Quilt In A Day for this ruler! I just love it! I think this is one of the funnest looking quilts I have ever made! I actually decided that I’m going to give this as a baby blanket to one of my dearest friends for her new baby! His name is Ivan and I hope he loves it! I cannot wait to finish it and send it off in the mail. It may be a little too warm for the next few months for him to use it, but I know once fall comes, he’ll use it quite a bit! Now to pin it and quilt it! Wish me luck!
I’m having such a fun birthday! Work was a blast, and I have the coolest supervisor ever! And now I’m going to skype with one of my dearest friends, and then I get to work on this qonky quilt! Hopefully I’ll finish the top by tonight, so I can show it off at work tomorrow!
I’m just so in love with this ruler! I don;t know what I’m going to do with myself once I finish this quilt! I guess I’ll have to find another fun ruler to use! I wonder what other fun rulers Quilt In A Day has!
I’ve been sewing these blocks, and I’m just really loving this ruler! I love the way the blocks look, and I just love the look of it. This ruler seriously makes it so easy! I can’t wait to make another one as a baby blanket!
I love love love my new wonky ruler! I got it compliments of Quilt In A Day, and I could not be happier about it! I mean, it does create a lot of small scraps, but I’m juts saving all of those for a crazy quilt! It is so much fun to piece the quilt together and see how the shape changes and how dimension is added after each cut! I decided not to do a specific pattern, but just use random pieces to just make a fun bright quilt that everyone can enjoy!
