Would Anyone Like To Win Some Holiday Coasters?

As I was trolling the blogosphere looking at other crafters’ blogs, I realized, that I really don;t do nearly as many giveaways on here as other people. I don’t want anyone to think I don’t appreciate my readers.

So, the giveaway for this week will be a set of 6 Christmas Coasters!

I Got A Present!

I, being the technical super-genius that I am, have been helping my friend with her website and setting up her online business, Brylyn’s Treasures! I’ve also been helping move her inventory from notebooks to excel and helping her with her budgeting statements. She has, in return, given me the coolest gift ever! She gave me a pencil sketch of a scene from The Wizard of Oz! I am ridiculously excited for this, as I am a huge Wizard of Oz fan. I even own the Monopoly game for it. So here is a picture of my present that I just needed to share with everyone. I’ll post a better pic when I get it framed and out of it’s loose plastic sheathing.

Some of My Favorite Quilts For Oct 6th 2013

As of yesterday, I have added a new weekly segment to my blogging line up: My Favorite Quilts. Basically, I’m sharing some of the quilts that I look to for inspiration. I’m excited for it. People can get a better look into my creative process, because I frankly think some people think I use Black Magic or Voodoo to quilt, and I can assure everyone, I just quilt with manic enthusiasm.

I Had an Interesting Email….

As I’m sitting here creeping on other craft blogs looking for fun links to share, I received an email from one of my readers asking me ‘What are my favorite quilts or quilters?’ I thought… Genius Idea! Once a week, I’ll post a few quilts that I find very unique and beautiful! So I’ll start tomorrow with a few that I already have in mind. I just need to find out the names and the people who made them! I have my homework assignment for this evening!

As the phrase goes “There is no rest for the wicked.” So, as you all can imagine, I’m very busy. 🙂

Now that I have access to the internet again, I can get back on a regular schedule for my posts, and I need your help! That’s right! You! Tell me what you want! What you really really want. I would like to know what my readers want me to do. Do you want more tips and tricks, tutorials, quilting projects, or more pieces like ‘Confessions of a Quilt-aholic.’? Let me know, and I’ll make it happen, but for the time being the upcoming schedule is looking something like…

Sunday : E-cards and Sewing tips, tricks, and secrets

Monday: Confessions of a Quilt-aholic

Tuesday: Sewing Tutorial

Wednesday: Quilter Ramblings (That’s new)

Thursday: My Quilting Patterns

Friday: Product Reviews

Saturday: Dealers Choice (aka… whatever I feel like!)

Confessions of a Quilt-aholic: I Want You To Want Me…

Does anyone else know hoe good that feeling it when you give someone something and they are just so elated you become elated through a contact high? I love that feeling, in fact, that is why I quilt so much. After all of the 20 something quilt tops, and 8 quilts I have made, I have yet to complete one for myself. I’ve made a few on commission, but mostly I just give them to people in my life who I like. I’ve made on for my Aunt and Uncle who are like parents to me, and I’ve made one for my roommate and her daughter, and now my Dad too. I have 2 quilt tops that I did make for myself, but I have yet to quilt them. The Frozen Star Quilt is for me. I love that thing, but every time I get close to quilting it, I feel the need to make one for someone else. Continue reading
