On to my next project!

Now that I finished sewing the Quilt Top for Vicki, and I’m not sure how to dye it yet, so I think I will move on to my next project. That is the quilting work for the Quilt for Miss A! I think I’m just going to stitch in the ditch for the body and then do something with a little more fun for the border. Not sure yet, but I’ll sleep on it and come up with something supper!

How Should I Quilt This?

Frozen Star 2

Later this week or next week, I’m planning on quilting this. I have no idea what to do. Part of me wants to do a simple design, and do grey thread, but then part of me wants to do something with turquoise thread, and just have some wild and crazy fun! What does everyone think I should do?

I Would Be Lying If I Said I Was Thrilled

Lakeville-20130714-00493

I’m working on this piece, and I’m just not in love with it. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I’m just not enchanted with it. I usually fall in love with a quilt once the piecing is almost done, and as I near completion on this quilt top, I find myself says… Meh. It’s nice and all, it really is, but I’m just not all that thrilled with it. I’m kind of tossing around the idea of what to do with a border, and I’m just not sure what to do about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Wouldn’t you like to get under this and snuggle with your significant other, or just get under it to snuggle up and watch a movie.

Project Vicki Update!

Lakeville-20130712-00483

I’m still not exactly sure what I’m doing, but someday soon I might just figure it out! So far, I’ve decided to make this quilt a “Rippling 9 Patch”. Yeah… Basically it is a sea of rich browns, and then this blue is rippling through it. It’s not a blooming 9 patch, but based on it I guess. I just wanted to do something different, and I’m actually liking it quite a bit! Once again though, that may change and I could redesign everything at a moment’s notice, but we’ll see

I Decided Against The Lilypads

Lakeville-20130711-00466

As I was appliqueing on the last few diamonds to pierce through the border, I realized, I really don;t want any lily pads on it. I’m not sure why, maybe I think they’ll make it too busy, nut I just decided against them. I decided to stick with the diamonds I appliques on and then that will be it.

I did decide to add them to pierce through the border, just to kind of tie it all together. If I had any of the fabrics from the center left, I would have used one of them to make to border, but I worked with what I had, so I put a few diamonds piercing through the center of the quilt and breaking out into the border. I feel like it really gives it some dimension and I really like that! I’m not sure how I’m going to quilt it, but I’ll figure that out eventually. I’m not sure if I want to accent the appliqued diamonds, or if I just want to quilt over them to make them fade into the rest of the quilt. I’m open to any suggestions people may have!

The Pond is Almost Done!

Lakeville-20130710-00461

I’m almost finished with the Pondscape quilt top. I finally finished sewing the diamonds together, and I put on the border. On two sides, the border is a mind green, and on the other two, we have a faux-indigo shell patterned fabric. I did this to show the difference between the pond water, and the grassy shore. I still have some applique to do to tie the pond together. I’m going to do a few lily pads, and some flowered diamonds to just make everything pop out a little bit more! I’m really excited to quilt this, but that might not be for a week or so. I just have about 3 other projects that are pressing, but we’ll see. The winds of favor might blow over the pond water and motivate me! Who knows!
