I posted the teaser earlier, and here it is. I still have to piece it together because I had to go to work this morning, but now that I am home, I’m going to put on some Jefferson Starship and rock out with my vintage singer. Hopefully I’ll have it pieced later tonight and I’ll post a picture of the finished block. Now to draw up designs for an Ultraball, Greatball, and Masterball. Wish me luck!
I don’t know why I didn’t put this up sooner, since it has been completed for quite a while, but here is the listing for my Tetris Quilt, as well as my Tetris Quilt Pattern. I’ve been commissioned to make a queen size one for Christmas, so as soon as I do that, I’ll have a pattern for that as well! I hope everyone enjoys these!
I was up super late, like 3 in the morning and I got some random ass inspiration, and I started drawing this up. Then I sat and did the math for the block, and then I picked out some fat quarters and went to town. By 4:30 I had everything cut and I started to lay it down on the table. Can you guess what this partially finished block is? One hint: It’s not a Mario mushroom.
It’s 11:00pm and I’m not sure which fabric to put on as a border. I was leaning towards the one with the fern leaves on the black background, but the grey is really framing it quite well. Any opinions? For those of you that don’t know, Zelda is an amazing video game, and part of it always takes place in the forest, so I’m really leaning towards the fern fabric, but I’m a little worried, because there is a lot of that fabric already in the quilt. What should I do? Or should I go to bed and figure it out tomorrow?
I was a couple of days behind of my sewing projects, until today that is. Now I’m mostly caught up. I have to put on the border, baste and quilt it. So hopefully I’ll get that done over the next 2 days, and then I can start work on my next quilt. I was feeling a little overwhelmed, but now I’m back on track. I can’t believe I spent all day sewing, and also had time to make homemade meatballs, spaghetti and french onion soup. It was delicious by the way!
You know what they say, no rest for the wicked! So I must be down right dastardly at the rate I’ve been going. I have my serger which I only allow myself to play for 30 minutes a day until I am all caught up on commissions. I have a queen size quilt and a throw quilt to complete, and here is the queen size I am working on today! One of these days I’ll be all caught up, and then I can do something fun and awesome with my serger, like make 100 change purses in a day! Not sure why I would want to, but damn it, I want to say that I did it! Also, I think I’m going to get the gathering foot for my serger! I want to make something gathered on it, not sure what, but darn it, I want to make it! Now wish me luck so I can get back to sewing like a fiend!
I was up until the wee hours of morning working on this beauty! I finished the quilting around 1am and then finished the binding at like 2:30. I still want to stitch in the ditch around the blocks using glow in the dark thread, but by the time I was getting around to it, my vision started to and sewing straight lines was not on the table. Hopefully I’ll do it tonight! So then, what’s next for my quilts of nerd-dom?
I made this to go along with the Quilt! It was super easy, and everyone remembers the clouds from Mario World. In fact, everything has faces on it, so it is kind of hard to pass up! Haha. The customer wanted a pillow sham to go with the quilt for their son, so Here it is! Once I quilt it, I’ll post more pictures.
Here is the last one! The Goomba is all ready and marching on! Now to piece them all together and then make the pillow sham that matches! Hopefully I’ll finish everything by tomorrow, so it can be mailed out on Monday!

It’s all cut and ready to get sewed. First, I think I’ll eat lunch! Then onto the sewing! I just love this brown fabric! It’s just one of my favorites, and I think it adds so much texture! What do you guys think?
