As you all know, I love to quilt! I do! It’s amazing, but sometimes there are other pressing things. The cold weather is one of them. I knew I had to go and get some stuff done before winter comes, so I had to take the day off from quilting. I ended up raising some patio stones, and I also dumped quite a bit of dirt by the foundation. Surprise! I also bought some rhododendrons! They are dark red! I’m super excited for them to bloom in the spring!

Flannel or Quilter’s Cotton Backing?

I have a question for everyone: what type of backing do you use? I use whatever I have freely available ta the time, but today someone told me that I should only use a flannel back if I quilt a flannel top. Now, I’m think this is one of those, “Don’t use polyester thread because it will tear through your quilting fabric.”, kind f scenarios. Anyone have any advice on the topic? I’ve been mixing up what ever kind of backing
Finished Blue Friforce! I Love The Binding!
I finally finished it! I actually finished it this morning, so I’m so relieved about that! The deadline is Friday, so I still had a little bit of time, but I can now relax and know that it is done. I changed up the binding a bit on this one. I think from now on, I’m going to bind these Zelda quilts in whatever color the center is. I think it really ties the whole thing together! What do you think?

Blue Triforce Quilt Top Is Done
I’ve been like dying from an allergic reaction I had to blue cheese, so I haven’t posted much lately, but I have been working! I finished this quilt top, and I even started to quilt it! I’m so excited to get close to being finished! I love it when people order this quilt in some non-traditional colors! Keeps me on my toes! I can’t wait to mail it out! Hopefully by Monday, or Tuesday at the latest! Wish me luck!

I Finished My Bargello Quilt!
I taught the class on it, and you saw the one my student made, so here is mine! I wanted fun and sporadic colors, but for my next one, I think I’ll do something more traditional. Maybe like, gold to brown, or something along those lines! This is also a present for a friend of my dad’s, so I really hope she likes it!
A Student’s Bargello Quilt Top
Today I taught a class over at Merrillville Sewing Center, and it was on Bargello quilts! One of my students made this adorable quilt top! I’m just so in love with it, I might want to make one for myself! She picked out the most gorgeous Jelly Roles!
