Crazy Quilt 1: Almost Done

Sorry for the lack of posts, life has been super busy these past few days! Work is awesome, but life outside work is just plain time consuming! Someday, my personal life will be as organized as the fabrics in closet…. First I guess I have to organize those too.

Anyways, here is my progress on my crazy quilt! I finished the piecing, and now I am doing the embroidery and the borders. I’ve did some embroidery today at work, so I’ll post those pictures later. Enjoy the awesomeness that is my crazy quilt! I also added some gold thread for a special lady who requested it! I hope she enjoys it!

Sewing All Night

I’ll be sewing all night! I had such an emotionally stressful day, I ended up taking a huge power nap, and now I need to get sewing. I’m since I took said nap, I will not go to sleep on time, so I decided to just stay up all night! I need to find a Diet Coke! I know the phrase goes, “I haven’t had enough coffee until I can thread a needle while the machine is running.”, but I love me some Diet Coke! I might even mix it up and throw in a Diet Dew to make things a bit crazy! Colts quilt, is number one on the list!

Indianapolis Colts Quilt: Cutting Fabric!

I’ve been slowly working on this quilt. I should actually have it done by Wednesday evening. I’ve started cutting the background fabric. I left the actual Colts fabric at work, so I haven’t been able to do much. I go back tomorrow, so I’ll pick it up then. Then I can really get started! I cannot wait to start!

Crazy Quilt 1: Almost Done!

I’ve been working on it at work the past few days and here is what I have to far. I really can’t do much of it at home since none of my machines have fancy decorative stitches, but it’s a project for work anyways. Eventually I’ll be teaching a class on it, and I’m super excited for that to happen! I’ve even got the scraps all cut for the next one!

Crazy Quilt 1: Coming Along

I wish I had more time to work on it, but I only got about 2 hours of sewing done. I was also watching Mad Men, so that didn’t help. I did my taxes, so that was nice! Then I had to go to bed, because I have the most awesome job that I had to get up for this morning. It would be more awesome if it didn’t start until noon, but I’ll take what I can get! Hope everyone enjoys!

Working On My Crazy Quilt

I’ve been doing this at work, and took it home to do a little bit of work on it. Eventually I will be teaching a class on how to make one, so I better get it right! I love all of the fun computerized machines, because I can do all of these awesome stitches! I’m just in love with it! I cannot wait to make more cuts into it, and fill it with more fabric scraps! I love the Orange, Yellow, and Green color scheme, and the Blue embroidery thread really sets it off! Hopefully it will look a little bit crazier by tomorrow.

Zelda Commission 5: It’s Finished!

I did it! It is done, and I’m so happy I can call it a day! I’ll mail it out later today, and then tomorrow, I will start my next commission. For the finishing on this one, I did shiny blue thread for the background and then gold for the bird and triforce. I also did a gold rim of stippling around the edge of the quilt. I think it really makes it pop! I’m so in love with it, I’m kind of sad I have to mail it out!

Started The Crazy Quilt

Today at work I got cracking on this crazy quilt! I want to eventually teach a class on it, so I’m trying to get it done by next week, so I can get together a class plan. I started to piece strips and scraps together, and then did some decorative stitches on it. Now if only I could find the motivation to quilt the Zelda Commission on my sewing table!

Zelda Commission 5: Almost Done

I’m almost done! I did the blue background stippling and I put on the binding. I used a nice medium mottled blue for the binding. I think it ties the fabric blocks together quite nicely with the medium blue thread I used. The only thing left to do is the stippling on the bird. I already have the gold thread picked out, and it’s by my sewing machine waiting for me! I even got a new quilting foot. I’ll post about that later though. Wish me luck!
