I Finished The Equality Quilt!

Since I failed at my list for yesterday, I’m going to try to make it up today. This quilt took me much longer than I had originally anticipated, so it ate into the time I had allotted for the rest of my daily shenanigans. I used basting spray, and I hated it! I couldn’t quilt at high speed, the thread kept breaking, and I tried re-threading it, switching spools, everything! When I would sew too fast the needle would get hot, and then it would melt the adhesive and it stuck to the thread causing it to break! I’m going to stick to pinning my quilts from now on! lol

List For Today

Hopefully people have noticed I have not been super active this week, between work, and getting all of the outdoor projects done before it snows, I have been swamped! So, today is catch up day! I’ve already painted the garage door, and caulked the frame, so I am done outside today! So, sewing and blogging are my new top priorities!

Things to come today:

Finished Sewing The Blocks Last Night!!!

I finished sewing the blocks around 10:30 last night and was too lazy to post a picture then, so here they are. Later today I’ll sew them together and pin the quilt top to the batting and backing. I’m still thinking about that design I want to do for quilting. Hmmm. I’ll figure something out!

Plugging Away…

Okay, so here I am about to pick up where I left off sewing last night, and I get a call to come into work. Ugh! Oh well! I was free all morning, but didn’t do anything all that productive so I can only be upset with myself. Instead of sewing this morning, I caulked some windows, went to a pancake breakfast at the local legion post, and then did some grocery shopping. I should have known better! Hahaha! So, hopefully I’ll still be able to finish the top tonight when I get home! Wish me luck!

Finally Started Work On My Quilt

After 3 ten hours days, I was off work today. I caulked some windows, raked some leaves, went grocery shopping, and ordered a pizza, and after that, I started cutting my fabric! I finally started this beast, and hopefully I’ll finish it by tomorrow evening! I already have a new commission for after this one, so I best hurry it up!

Already Picking Out Fabric For My Scrap Quilt!

Since I got the order yesterday, when I got home from my day job, I started messing around with my fabric! I found my bin labeled ‘Large Scraps’ and started taking everything out of it. I found fabric remnants I didn’t even know I still had pieces of! It’s rather invigorating! So, I have a rough guess of the fabric I am going to use, and only 2 pieces are fat quarters that have not been cut into! I feel very frugal! I love it! Here is the fabric!

Still Plugging Away On The Christmas Quilt

So I’m still working on this Christmas Quilt, but I had to take a break from sewing to paint a garage door, and caulk some windows. I finally got back to it, and I made some good progress on it tonight. However, tonight, I am already in bed and under a blanket. I also realized that I have never made a quilt for myself, so that is coming up soon!
