More Scarves From More Scraps

img_20180111_150622521.jpg

I’ve been a busy little sewer! Well, at least I’m trying to be. When I started making these scarves out of my scraps I had no idea how much fun they would be! I have a green one currently in the works, as well as a pink one, but they still need to have the topper put on, and sewn more. The only trick is, you have to stitch enough to secure everything in place, but not too much to make it too stiff. It’s a little tricky finding the right amount, but once you get the hang of it, it’s so much fun.

Shimmer Scarves!

I’ve been having a blast with the knitting machines at work and decided to make a few of these over the last couple days. I made a couple for myself and everyone keeps asking where I brought it from, so I decided it would be wise to start selling them! What do you think? They are so soft, and so warm! You should check them out on Etsy and see more pictures and all the colors after the jump… Continue reading

Zelda Scarves!

I have so much to tell you all about; it has been a crazy week. Work has been insane, but at the same time, I really don’t mind it! I get to play with fancy textile equipment all day every day! Who could complain about that? One thing I have been doing after work is playing with the machines! I knitted these gorgeous scarves! Now that it is cold, I figured everyone would adore these! What do you think?

I Washed The Scarves I Made… Amazing!

I made these this morning and last night, washed them up, and here they are. I made three of them, and all I want to do is make more, but I have a commission I am in the middle of, and I’m also out of wash away stabilizer! I did use some fancy thread sample I got from a friend. It’s called Wonderfil Dazzle, and I used it as cording with my cording foot, and it just turned out amazing! I didn’t have a bunch of it, so I used yarn on the other ones! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to a Zelda quilt. Wish me luck!

Silky Prints Fabric For Scarf Making

I did some heavy fabric shopping the other day. I bought these gorgeous silky print fabrics and I’m just so excited to do some work with them! I have plans fr a couple of different kinds of scarves. I think my favorite is the orange and teal! I can’t wait to make something exciting. I know I’m making infinity scarves, but I’ve got a couple of other ideas to mess around with! Wish me luck!

I Finished An Infinity Scarf

I took a quick break from sewing a quilt to make an infinity scarf last night. I just got this bug up my ass, and next thing I know I’m pulling out my serger and making a scarf! I think it turned out just marvelous! I used the rolled hem on my serger and some woolly nylon, and made the outside seam twist around it, adding some texture, and making sure it wasn’t flat! I just love it! Now to get back to quilting!

Looking For Mannequin Heads

image

Now. I know a lot of my readers know a lot of things, but I’m hoping someone can tell me where to find good Mannequin heads, and possibly arms/hands… I’m going to be making some scarves and I want to use those as a display. Any clues? I see them on eBay, but I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere else?

Thanks in advance!
