I finished the pillow shams! And they look great with my quilt! I just need to finish the matching throw pillows! I’m thinking about making myself another one with this pattern that is a throw size quilt, and some throw pillows so I can have them on the couch in the front room. Also, I’m starting a new quilt for my bed. This one is going to be bright and summery! I’m not sure of the pattern yet, but I did pick out the fabrics! I’m just so excited! So much to do, so little time!

First Zelda Pillow Sham Done!
Making Some Triforce Throw Pillows
I’ve decided I need some pillow shams to go with my Zelda Quilt I made a few months ago. I don’t know why I never made them sooner, but I just never got around to it. Here is one of the pieced on my sewing table. I have everything cut for the two of them, but I’m making them one at a time. Here’s to piecing it together!
Zelda Commission 5: It’s Finished!
I did it! It is done, and I’m so happy I can call it a day! I’ll mail it out later today, and then tomorrow, I will start my next commission. For the finishing on this one, I did shiny blue thread for the background and then gold for the bird and triforce. I also did a gold rim of stippling around the edge of the quilt. I think it really makes it pop! I’m so in love with it, I’m kind of sad I have to mail it out!

Zelda Commission 5: Almost Done
I’m almost done! I did the blue background stippling and I put on the binding. I used a nice medium mottled blue for the binding. I think it ties the fabric blocks together quite nicely with the medium blue thread I used. The only thing left to do is the stippling on the bird. I already have the gold thread picked out, and it’s by my sewing machine waiting for me! I even got a new quilting foot. I’ll post about that later though. Wish me luck!
Zelda Commission 5: Still Stippling
I did some house work today, but not nearly enough. I wanted to get my third bedroom upstairs organized, but there is just so much paperwork to go through. Also, I need to buy a shredder. I have checks from the 70s as well as other paperwork that I still have to go through. Happy times! I get paid on Friday, so maybe I’ll go and pick one up. Well, now that I ma secretaried out for the day, I’m about to go and hop on machine again. The plan is to finish the background and leave the bird and binding for tomorrow.
Zelda Commission 5: Started To Stipple
I started the quilting on the Zelda Commission. I’m doing a medium stipple with a bright blue thread for the background, and I’m going to do the bird in yellow. I might do some secondary stipples with a dark blue and a orange, but I’m not sure yet. I want to see how it all blends when it is jut the light blue and the yellow. Hopefully I’ll finish the quilting by tonight… or at least the blue part anyways. I’m trying to be optimistic. It’s my day off from work, and I’ve got a lot of housework!
Zelda Commission 5: It’s Getting Pinned
After a crazy week of work, and then house work, I’ve finally gotten around to working on this quilt again. I just started pinning it, and hopefully I’ll have a little quilted by tonight. At work, I’ve been working on a couple of projects, including gathering the scraps for a crazy quilt, and I made a trivet. In fact, I’m going to be teaching a class on how to construct them. After the class I’ll post some of the samples! However, for the time being, here are the pictures of my quilt being pinned!
Zelda Commission 5: Finished The Top
I did it! I finished it last night, but was too lazy to post it. I have today off from work, so it is catch up day on all things Blog and housework related! Lots of cleaning, but hopefully I can get lots of sewing done too! I think I am going to start the quilting on this quilt later today. I’m using backing fabric, so I don’t have any more piecing to do for that. All I have to do is cut the batting off the roll, and cut and sew the binding. I feel so ahead of the game!
Zelda Commission 5: Two Thirds Done
I did this late last night. I had some paperwork to go over right when I got home, but then I got crackin’ on my sewing machine. It took me a couple of hours, but I got this third done. So, now I have two thirds of the quilt top done. Hopefully I’ll finish the top this weekend, and start the quilting. I’m getting really excited!
