I finally finished the quilt top! I’m also mildly in love with it. I think it is typically something I would find too cheery, but I know my Dad will love it, so I’m happy! I think I’ll quilt it this weekend and give it to him as an early birthday present. I hope he likes it!

After a day of working my legs off, I’ve come home, showered, ate, and now I’m chilling out, watching the Mindy Project, and working on a design for my next quilt. I have the pieces of my Christmas scrap quilt sitting on my ironing board, but no iron. I cleaned it, and now I have to wait for the CLR to evaporate, and just steam some water through it.
So, as that sits there, I’m working on a sexy new quilt pattern! Wish me luck!
Decided it was a bit too dark, so I’m going to throw in a few brighter pieces. I found a lovely candy cane stripe print, and some red and gold fabric. I’m working on making the block with the stripe a bit more exciting. I have an idea, but I’m still brain storming it.
I don’t know if this happens to other people very often, or maybe it is just because I try to pump out as many projects as humanly possible, but sometimes I feel like I am running out of inspiration. I don;t know why, but lately I haven’t been able to come up with a single thing that is amazing! I’ve made some damn good projects lately, but I’ve run out of steam, and I think part of it has to do with moving and getting set up again, and starting a new job, but I was just curious to see if this happens a lot to other people as well. Since I had to go to work today, which at least was nice exercise, I didn’t get to sew yet today. I think a craft a day keeps the doctor away, so I should be set for a while anyways. I did get quite a bit of work done last night, and I am quite pleased with it so far. I hope to finish the top either today or tomorrow, so we’ll see. I would really like to get this done soon, so I can use up all of those scraps from my other projects and move onto something else, and I want to give to my Dad as soon as possible!

Well, I took to my scraps and started to sew up a storm. I’m almost done with 7 of the 9 blocks. At least, I think I’ll stick with 9 blocks and a large border, or maybe do 12 blocks and a thinner border. Not sure on that detail yet, but I will make sure to keep everyone posted!
I decided that for my Dad’s birthday / Christmas present I’m going to make him a Christmas throw size quilt. I have all of these scraps from making coasters, pot holders, and the like, so I will whip together a quilt! Wish me luck everyone! I have a lot of scraps, so I’m going to try to keep it simple, but you never know!!!

I’ve started to work on my Christmas induced debauchery now that I have finished my latest quilting project. I’ve made a total of 124 coasters so far and have mailed some out to friends and family. I have a craft show to be a vendor at in November, so it is time to stockpile all of these fun things!
