Dual Star: Progress Before Packing It Up

Thornton-20140127-01588

Here is what I have for Dual Star. I’m a little bummed I have to pack it up and out it away for the next couple of days while I work on this Zelda commission, but I think absence will make the heart grow fonder! I’m sure that I will just jump right back into it! I really love this turquoise fabric, so I’m using it in my Zelda commission as well. Wish me luck, because I have an awful lot of things to do this week! Oh, and I start my new job! 😉

Queen Zelda Commission: Getting Started

Thornton-20140127-01589

Okay, so I’ve had to pack up Dual Star, because I’ve gotten a new commission. It’s going to be a queen size Zelda quilt. On the order form he selected blue, so here are the shades of blue for the background. I have everything going from a medium blue to navy. I think it will all blend very well! The bird and the Triforce are going to be gold, and I think it will contrast nicely against the blue. Wish me luck!

Dual Star: A New Kind Of Blooming 9 Patch

So everyone remembers Frozen Star. Well this is kind of like that, but different. Instead of one star, it’s going to be two. The background if going to be tan and brown. I’m not sure if I’m going to make both stars the same color or make each star a different color. What do you guys think? I’m either going to do both stars in turquoise, or one purple and one turquoise.

Vikings Quilt: It’s All Done!

I did it! It is complete and ready to be mailed out tomorrow! I’m in love with it! It makes me miss living in Minnesota a little! Not that I’m a football fan or anything, but it just reminds me of Minnesota. I’m super happy I went with gold thread. It really makes the sashing pop!

Viking’s Quilt: Top Is Pieced!

I finally did it! Between waiting on fabric, and then returning fabric, and then finding out they never had the right fabric and re-ordering it from a different vendor, and then that fabric being delayed by the weather, it took me quite a while to piece this! I will at least start the quilting today. I wanted to start it last night, but I ended up going to a class for embroidery software this morning, and yesterday I had the job interview. I’ve just been running around a mile a minute. Now that I am back home and sewing, I know I can power through a big chunk of this tonight! Wish me luck!
