Yesterday at work I needed to run an embroidery machine to make sure it worked! So I decided that it’s winter-ish, so I should make something with some snowflakes. found a pattern for some modern snowflakes, and you know I’m way too modern for my own good sometimes, so here it is! Do you like it?

Finished This Top, Now To Make It Into A Duvet Cover
This one is not actually going to be a quilt, but it is going to be a duvet cover! I’m going to do some light quilting with a back layer of light flannel, and attach baking fabric on the edges to turn it into a duvet cover! I’m really excited, as I have never used a quilt to make a duvet cover before. Thank goodness I have the serger to finish off the inside seams!
I’ve Been Working On 2 Commissions
I recently got 2 commissions for the same quilt. One is an actual quilt, but the other is a duvet cover. I bought the serger, so I do feel better about doing the inside seams now. The other one is a quilt plain and simple. I’ve been cutting quite a bit of fabric, and here are the piles of stuff so far! Hopefully I’ll get some piecing done today! Wish me luck!

I Just Got A Serger!
I took the plunge! I got a Viking 200S serger! I’m just in love with it! Now, to be honest, I never thought I would need a serger, but I had someone tell me about how they put on the binding with a serger, and I thought… “Well that sounds amazing!” So, now I have a serger to play around with! I just have to wait for serger thread to go on sale… not that I don’t have any, but now I need more! Last night all I really had time to do was play around with the tensions a bit because I’ve got a few commissions to work on, but after the holidays, I’m going to be pounding out throw pillows on it! Wish me luck!
Took The Day Off From Quilting
As you all know, I love to quilt! I do! It’s amazing, but sometimes there are other pressing things. The cold weather is one of them. I knew I had to go and get some stuff done before winter comes, so I had to take the day off from quilting. I ended up raising some patio stones, and I also dumped quite a bit of dirt by the foundation. Surprise! I also bought some rhododendrons! They are dark red! I’m super excited for them to bloom in the spring!
Flannel or Quilter’s Cotton Backing?

I have a question for everyone: what type of backing do you use? I use whatever I have freely available ta the time, but today someone told me that I should only use a flannel back if I quilt a flannel top. Now, I’m think this is one of those, “Don’t use polyester thread because it will tear through your quilting fabric.”, kind f scenarios. Anyone have any advice on the topic? I’ve been mixing up what ever kind of backing
Finished Blue Friforce! I Love The Binding!
I finally finished it! I actually finished it this morning, so I’m so relieved about that! The deadline is Friday, so I still had a little bit of time, but I can now relax and know that it is done. I changed up the binding a bit on this one. I think from now on, I’m going to bind these Zelda quilts in whatever color the center is. I think it really ties the whole thing together! What do you think?
