It took me a while, but I made this duvet cover for a customer! I wanted to finish it last night, but I had a date to go on, so I was a bit preoccupied! However, I just finished sewing the velcro on to close up the opening, so I’m quite excited to get this in the mail on Monday! I hope he likes it! It was quite an adventure, this being the first project I used my serger on! It was quite the good investment! I feel like I’m going to be using it a lot!
This one is not actually going to be a quilt, but it is going to be a duvet cover! I’m going to do some light quilting with a back layer of light flannel, and attach baking fabric on the edges to turn it into a duvet cover! I’m really excited, as I have never used a quilt to make a duvet cover before. Thank goodness I have the serger to finish off the inside seams!
I recently got 2 commissions for the same quilt. One is an actual quilt,but the other is a duvet cover. I bought the serger, so I do feel better about doing the inside seams now. The other one is a quilt plain and simple. I’ve been cutting quite a bit of fabric, and here are the piles of stuff so far! Hopefully I’ll get some piecing done today! Wish me luck!
I finally finished it! I actually finished it this morning, so I’m so relieved about that! The deadline is Friday, so I still had a little bit of time, but I can now relax and know that it is done. I changed up the binding a bit on this one. I think from now on, I’m going to bind these Zelda quilts in whatever color the center is. I think it really ties the whole thing together! What do you think?
I’ve been like dying from an allergic reaction I had to blue cheese, so I haven’t posted much lately, but I have been working! I finished this quilt top, and I even started to quilt it! I’m so excited to get close to being finished! I love it when people order this quilt in some non-traditional colors! Keeps me on my toes! I can’t wait to mail it out! Hopefully by Monday, or Tuesday at the latest! Wish me luck!
I finished another commission yesterday! I wanted to get it out in the mail on Friday, but I finished it so late Friday night I had to mail it out today! The person who bought it will still get it on Monday, so I’m very happy! I hope she will like it too! It’s actually very similar to the one I did right before this one. I had a lot of the same fabric left over, and I was originally going to make it for my friend, but I wanted his to be a slightly different color scheme. Anywho, now I have to quilt another one this weekend, but at least that is just a large throw!
I was up until 4am doing all of the quilting. I was halfway done at 1:30 and almost called it quits and went to bed, but I was just so excited to see it finished that I just powered through and watched some True Blood and finished the quilting! Now tonight, I have to bind it and wash it, but also… I might take a nap first. We’ll see.
I did it! The commission isn’t due until the 25th, so that gives me a couple of days to work on it. I always find the quilting the easy part. I don’t have to pay much attention to stipple, so that’s nice. Not sure if I’m going to pin it today or what… We’ll see!

I did it! I finished this part before I went to bed last night. Sorry I didn’t post it sooner, but I had to go to work and then do some housework. It looks really bright in the light I took the picture in, but it looks a little darker when you are just looking at it. I really love the way the colors are melting together! Hopefully tonight, I’ll finish the middle part! Wish me luck!
