Zelda Commission 5: Two Thirds Done

I did this late last night. I had some paperwork to go over right when I got home, but then I got crackin’ on my sewing machine. It took me a couple of hours, but I got this third done. So, now I have two thirds of the quilt top done. Hopefully I’ll finish the top this weekend, and start the quilting. I’m getting really excited!

Zelda Commission 5: About A Third Of The Way Done

I did it! I hit my goal for the night. I was up late doing this, but it was so worth it. Now that it is out of the way I won’t be thinking about it at work. Now that it is bright and early I’m going to go and get ready for work. I love the way the blues blend in the background. At first I thought my blues all had a little too much contrast, but they all blended quite nicely. The golds blended was too. Tonight after work I should be able to get the next third pieced, but we’ll see how tired I am.

Zelda Commission 5: Some Progress Was Made

I made a little headway today. I was at work all day, and then came home and Skyped with my cousin and my nephew… they are too cute! Anyways. I started to piece this out again, and I’m slowly adding to it. Hopefully I will finish the piecing on this third tonight. I start my new job tomorrow so I doubt I’ll have time tomorrow. Wish me luck tonight!

Zelda Commission 5: Started To Piece It

It’s looking lovely! I’ve been kind of working all day, but to be honest, I’ve also been watching a lot of BBC. My goodness I love some British people! They make amazing TV! Hit and Miss… truly amazing! Not for all people to watch, but it’s kind of awesome! Anyways, back to the quilt. I’ve been piecing the quilt on and off all day. I love the way the blue blends together. At first, I was a bit worried that the blues were all too different, but I like the way it ended up looking. Hopefully I’ll have at least a third of the top pieced tonight, but I won’t hold my breath.

Queen Zelda Commission: Getting Started

Thornton-20140127-01589

Okay, so I’ve had to pack up Dual Star, because I’ve gotten a new commission. It’s going to be a queen size Zelda quilt. On the order form he selected blue, so here are the shades of blue for the background. I have everything going from a medium blue to navy. I think it will all blend very well! The bird and the Triforce are going to be gold, and I think it will contrast nicely against the blue. Wish me luck!

Working on My First Zelda Quilt Top

It was made some months ago, but never quilted. Story of my life, but I finally got around to it. I decided to use a Chicago Bears backing, as my best friend is a huge Bears fan! I hope he will like it. I might even get a chance to spirit it away to him tomorrow! I decided to juxtapose purple thread against the earthtoned and gold quilt. I thought it would make it pop! Let’s hope it does!

Finished The Etsy Zelda Quilt

After a week and a half of slaving over a hot sewing machine, I have managed to make this gorgeous quilt! I really hope the customer likes it! I went with blacks, greys, and charcoals to make the background and then golds and yellows for the Triforce and bird. I finished quilting it early this morning, but then had to run to work and then did some more work at a coffee shop with a crafting friend. I am tuckered out! So, here is the beautiful quilt!

Finished My Etsy Ordered Zelda Quilt!

I finally finished the most beautiful quilt in the world! Well, maybe that is slightly overreaching. I ended up doing a variegated thread on the top of gold, green, and burnt orange, and then orange on the back! I absolutely love it! I hope the client will too!

Finished The Top… Now To Quilt It!

I finished the top late last night. Boy, this one was quite a bit of work, but I think that was mostly due to its size. The woman I am making it for said she loved it so far, so that made me quite happy! I cannot wait to quilt it and get it in the mail to her so she can see it and touch it!

I decided to go with a dark burgundy back, because… well, I thought it looked hot in comparison to the front. I think it really sets it off, and for the binding, I am doing a solid black… but that may change, because I already have a new idea for it looming in the background of my mind, so we’ll see!
