Jetpacks Are Impractical And Dangerous

I don’t even know how to explain this project. It’s just kind of one of those things that I couldn’t help but make. I just thought it was verging on too ironic with the gothic lettering, and just it’s all around strangeness. I think some people take embroidery too seriously and they forget they can do fun and weird things with it!

Serenity Garden Table Runner

I’m not going to lie: I’m in love with table runners! It’s like a little baby quilt you can make in one day. Well, almost one day. Haha. I did this embroidery design I got from work called Serenity Garden. It had some very cute designs on it. I also got this fabric that has a metallic sheen to it, but doesn’t have a metallic feel. I really like it. I have it in green, navy, red, brown, and olive. It’s quite nice! I think it is by  Timeless Treasures. I think….

Playing With The Embroidery Machines At Work

Well, I’ve been making some stuff for the store I work at, and I wanted to work with some variegated thread. I’m beyond in love! I also played around with Viking’s 6D software… It’s actually pretty easy. I designed the 2 hearts, and the “When You Wish…” piece myself. It was actually surprisingly easy. I Got Some New Embroidery Thread… It’s Variegated!

So we started carrying a new thread at the shop I work at, and they have this line called ‘Mirage’ and it is all randomly dyed variegated thread, so it is very blend-able. I bought more, but I haven’t had the chance to do anything with it yet. I was kind of skeptical because it was rayon, and I’m not a huge fan of rayon thread, but it holds up quite nicely after being washed, so I broke down and bought some! I’m not sure what I’m going to do with these fun new variegated threads, but I’ll figure something out!

Quilt The Snowflake Table Runner

I haven’t touched this in a while, but I figured I should finish it even with all of my impending quilts! I got to work super early this morning, and just sat down and pressed the top on. (I’m using a double sided fusible table mat blank.) Now I’m going to quilt it. I was thinking of quilting it once with a blue variegated and then over that with a tighter purple stipple. We’ll see though, I might think the blue is enough. Wish me luck!

Snowflake Table Runner

The world has been obsessed with Frozen and I finally got around to doing something winter themed! I decided I wanted a black table runner and I was going to do some Modern Snowflakes in different shades of light blue, light purple, light yellow, silver, grey, and white! I’ve got about 6 more snowflakes to embroider, but it should be done by next week. One can hope anyways!

Finished My On Point Autumn

I finally got around to finishing this gorgeous quilt! It is my first embroidery quilt, so I was nervous about how it would turn out. I actually thought it would be kind of bland, but it ended up so cute! I think the fabric choices I made turned out great! Now I have to get working on a Bargello, so I’ll be back later! Kisses!

Cute Reversible Place Mats!

I’ve been playing around with some of the newer notions we got in at work, and I saw these pre-cut interfacing pieces for place mats, and I just could not help myself! I made a reversible one. One side is fall, and one side is summer! What do you think? I think my next one will be one side Thanksgiving, and one side Christmas! For the applique leaf, I used gold polyester lace I had stashed somewhere in my sewing room. The edge was satin stitched with an over-edge foot, so they are super washable!
