Throw Pillow: All Done

I did most of it at work, and then did the rest at home and made the pillow that fills it from scraps of batting and fleece. I just did an overlap in the back, because I didn’t feel like doing buttons. So here it is. I rather like it! I think I might even teach a class on it one of these days. I love the fabric pattern, and I think the teal thread really made it pop! I can’t wait to make a larger one! I think I might even do quilted pillowcases that match my Legend of Zelda Bed Quilt!

Working On My Crazy Quilt

I’ve been doing this at work, and took it home to do a little bit of work on it. Eventually I will be teaching a class on how to make one, so I better get it right! I love all of the fun computerized machines, because I can do all of these awesome stitches! I’m just in love with it! I cannot wait to make more cuts into it, and fill it with more fabric scraps! I love the Orange, Yellow, and Green color scheme, and the Blue embroidery thread really sets it off! Hopefully it will look a little bit crazier by tomorrow.

I Think I Might Do A Crazy Quilt…

I currently have 2 commissions going at the moment. One I am waiting on fabric for, and the other is the Zelda Commission that I ave to quilt this weekend. However, after those, I think I might do a crazy quilt. I’ve never done one before, but we need some samples at work, and I think it would really show off the embroidery machines. What do you guys think? I’m not going to lie, I’m not even sure where to start with a crazy quilt, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out!

First Embroidery Project

I did my first embroidery project today! It turned out perfectly… until I melted the thread with an iron. I had used a marker to mark the fabric and it ironed off when finished. So the entire time I’m pressing this thing as I sew, I remember to use the silicon ironing pad, but then at the last moment, I use the iron to get the yellow marker off, and it melts the thread. The purple rayon was fine, but the black polyester… not so much. I felt like a total heel! It’s still kind of cute though, and at least now I know how to make it for future reference. In fact, I’m thinking of making another in my spare time for my flip flops. It would have to be much larger though.

So today was a good day. I learned how to use an embroidery machine, and tomorrow I’m taking a class on embroidery software. I melted some thread, and now I know I will never do that again! I’ll just wait to wash it off! I’m still petting it on my sewing table next to my laptop. Now off to work on a quilt! Wish me luck!
