I finally finished the most beautiful quilt in the world! Well, maybe that is slightly overreaching. I ended up doing a variegated thread on the top of gold, green, and burnt orange, and then orange on the back! I absolutely love it! I hope the client will too!

Can one sew in moderation?
I don’t know about most people, but when I try something new, I give it 100%! When I started quilting, I made a king size quilt top in less than a week, and I’ve been working hard on sewing and quilting ever since. I’ve been trying to work on finding a balance of sewing and normal life, but I always end up in my new sewing room, pumping out one project or another. Recently I took some time off for my depression, but now I am back and have been hard at work on Christmas themed shenanigans, and then a very lovely lady bought a quilt fro me, so I have been working on that.
Recently, I started looking for a job to help me get out of the house, and I’ve come across a few that seemed interesting, but most of them make me want to quilt instead. Haha. I’ve just been looking for some moderation to keep me more balanced. Does anyone have any advice?
I’m kind of looking for a full time job, but I also want to make sewing, quilting, and crafting my full time job, so id=s there an answer for this age old quandary? I’m not sure.
I finished the top late last night. Boy, this one was quite a bit of work, but I think that was mostly due to its size. The woman I am making it for said she loved it so far, so that made me quite happy! I cannot wait to quilt it and get it in the mail to her so she can see it and touch it!
I decided to go with a dark burgundy back, because… well, I thought it looked hot in comparison to the front. I think it really sets it off, and for the binding, I am doing a solid black… but that may change, because I already have a new idea for it looming in the background of my mind, so we’ll see!

I’ve been slaving away between yard work projects on this beats of a quilt and I am quite pleased with it!
I’ve been trying to get it done in a timely manner because the buyer is such a sweet person I don’t want to make her wait too long! I should be done with the top later tonight, and I just went and bought the fabric for the backing and I plan to pin it and start quilting it tomorrow! Fingers crossed!!!

Started work on it. I’ve been cutting the fabric for the past 2 days and I;m going to start sewing really soon! I’m so excited! I hope everyone will like it!
More pics after the jump…
I did it! I finally got around to making these darn Christmas coasters. I still have Mug Rugs, and Pot Holders to make, but these are a start. With the move and everything it was quite chaotic, but things have settled down a little bit and I was able to sit down and make these! I’m so excited!
I’ve done about 30 of them, and I want to do a couple of hundred by the end of next week! Here’s to hoping!

While unpacking today I found this pillow, which was one of my first sewing projects and I’m still madly in love with it. I thought it would be so cute to take some old button up shirts and make a cute little pillow out of it! It took me about an hour or so, and I think it is one of the cutest things I have ever made! It even has a pocket!
As some people already know, especially if they follow my facebook page, the Zelda quilt I made is quite popular and now, I have another order placed for one! This one is going to be quite a bit of fun as the background is a couple of different colors. It’s going to be a blend of greys, charcoals, and then some darker red, blue, and green! I’m really excited for this quilt!
