Things Happening This Weekend… A Teaser

Currently I’m brainstorming business Ideas with a friend at a cafe, and my mind drifted off and my browser drifted along with it to make some E Cards while I’m supposed to be working on plans for the holiday season! So here is a sampling of my Sassy E Cards for this week, and I’ll post the rest tomorrow, and also a list of things to come for this weekend!

This Weekend’s Posts:

  • More Sassy E Cards
  • Finished Pictures of My Latest Etsy Sale

Almost Done Quiling It!

Still working on this Etsy quilt and almost done with it! I’ve been a little busy with work this week and did not make as much progress as I would have liked to! I do have a 2 to 3 week processing time listed on my Etsy site for purchases, but I like to try to get them done in a week! I am almost done, and I hope to have it shipped out tomorrow afternoon!

I Got A Present!

So, we all know one of my quilting friends for life is Diana at Ray’s Sew Crafty. Well today I got a package from her and it made me feel so warn and loved! It was truly one of the greatest gifts I have gotten! It was a signed copy of Eleanor Burns’ ‘Quilts from El’s Kitchen! I feel so special and awesome!

Auction House Finds!!!

So, I was hanging out at the local auction house, Fox Family Auctions, which is run by a dear friend of mine, and while bumbling through his stuff on consignment, I found this amazing piece of 1970s artwork! It is perhaps the coolest apron I have ever seen! It is held up by a woman’s bust and requires no neck ties. I just thought that was quite a design concept and wanted to share it with everyone!

Quilting Up A Storm!

Everybody’s quilting for the weekend! (Wait, I don;t think that is how the song goes, but oh well!) I’ve been pinning this quilt for the past hour. It took me quite a while to find a backing that was large enough that required minimal sewing to have, so I eventually found one, and it is a nice soft fabric too! I hope the client will be pleased! I know I am!

Things To Watch Out For Later Today

Since I didn’t post anything last night because I got off of work late, I’ll catch up on that today. I’ll post pictures of quilting the commission Zelda quilt, and then I’m also making a sample quilt for a few craft shows.

I also have to figure out what I want to do for the giveaway. Maybe I’ll take a picture of my safety pin box and everyone has to guess how many are in there! Yes! I think I will do that!

Confessions of A Quilt-aholic: The Thrill of The Sale

We’ve all done it! We’ve all gone to the store and bought some junk we didn’t need because it was on sale. I know I’m guilty of it. I’ve looked through my stash and had to do a double-take on some fabric. Why did I buy it? Why did I keep it? Why do I not even want to use it as a quilt backing? I’ll tell you why: it’s ugly! But, but, but… I got it on sale. That’s a good enough reason…. right? No not really. Then why did I buy some hideous calico print that I’ll never use or even want? Because it was red tag clearance and it was 2 dollars a yard. That’s why I did it, and I would like to apologize to the rest of the fabric that sits next to it in my closet, as well as my wallet. Joann’s Moonlight Madness Sale!!!!!

Yes! It is that time of year again! It is time to fondle some sale priced fabric at Joanns! I know I’m excited! It’s been all I could think about all day yesterday. Unfortunately I had to do a crap ton of housework. I was stripping the paint off of windows, and I had to take the wallpaper off of my bathroom walls, and prime to paint it! I have been very busy. However, tomorrow I’m heading to Joanns with a fist full of dollars and I’m going to stock up on everything! And I mean everything! I need batting, and fat quarters, and bobbins, and needles, and maybe some flannel, and Heat N Bond. I need it all! I’m so excited! Once I go get the batting I can finish my latest Etsy commission Quilt, and get it in the mail! I should be able to pin and quilt it tomorrow after work, and then bind it on Wednesday! I’m excited!
