The Binding Is On, And More Fabric Is Cut

I have officially finished everything for the Interlocking Column quilt. It turned out great! I’m trés in love with it, and soon I will have it washed and out of the dryer. I’ve already cut all of the squares for my next quilt and the piecing begins as soon as I go and shovel the driveway again! Wish me luck, and in the meantime fall head over heels for my latest completed quilt!

I’ve Got The Fabric Cut For My Next Quilt…

Thornton-20131214-01139

Kind of anyways. I had to dig around in my fabric bins looking for a little extra fabric in blacks and greys. Of course after I moved and organized everything today, I’ve lost everything as well! Haha. It took me almost an hour to find some I found suitable for blending into this quilt. I had half of it cut a few days ago, and now that I have all of the strips cut, I can start sewing strata! Tomorrow will be a very busy day!

Finished The Quilting For Interlocking Columns

I have officially finished the quilting on the Interlocking Columns quilt. It took me a while, and about 2000 yards of thread, but it is done and I couldn’t be happier with it! Once I reorganize my sewing room, I’ll put on the binding. Then I have to start a Zelda Quilt! Long day for me! I also have to clean my kitchen pantry! Long day ahead!

Interlocking Columns, Formally Know As Square Spiral

Interlocking Columns, formally know as Square Spiral is over half way done. I’ve just been so busy this past week, but after dinner today I have to buckle down and have this finished by tonight. Here it is so far. I still have to finish with the green, and then the cream and the brown. I’ve got about 2 more hours worth of work, and that is not including the binding and blocking. Then tomorrow I hvae to make an entire quilt. I have the fabric cut, but I want to piece it all tomorrow, and then quilt on Friday morning, and have it in the mail by Friday afternoon!

Wish me luck!

I Got A Christmas Present

Thornton-20131211-01113

I got a package in the mail today!!!! At first I was very confused. I looked at the packing slip and it said Joann Fabrics. I was really confused. I hadn’t ordered anything from them, and then I noticed the Gift Message on the receipt. It was from my Aunt and Uncle. They had sent me a roll of Warm and Natural Quilt Batting! It was the most thoughtful gift ever! I was so excited, I ran up stairs with it, and almost took it out of the box, but then I thought, “No Eric! Finish this other quilt first! Then play with your new batting!” So, I want to take it out of the box and play with it, but I’ve got to finish this quilt I’m working on. I didn’t get home until really late last night, so I didn’t do any work then, and then I had therapy this morning, so I’m about to hop back on it, and then I’m going to dinner with my old neighbor! I’m so excited!

It’s 3am And I’m Tired!

I’ve been messing around with my Janome, and I’ve finally gotten used to sewing on it! I must say, dropping the feed dogs makes my life so much easier! After about 3 hours of messing around, I started to quilt the Square Spiral quilt. (I’m still working on a title for that pattern.) I’m just doing some small stippling, and using the thread that corresponds to that section’s fabric color. It’s looking tight! I’m going to bed though, and I’ll post more pictures tomorrow once I quilt more!

I Got My Janome

I’m just so happy I could die! I got it today! I went and picked it up, and I’m just so excited! I’ve already been sewing on it. I’ve been making a binding for the Square Spiral quilt, and I’m just in love with it! I just ordered more feet for it. A darning foot, and a walking foot, and an assortment of other feet! I’m just so in love! we are already best friends!
